Back From Dallas...

I was down last year to see the Skins/'Boys game and the crowd was off the chain! Texas Stadium was roaring the whole night and I loved the atmosphere! It was nothing like the author of this thread described. Maybe the crowd was a little subdued because they figured it would be an easy win!

Again it's all relative. I've gone to games. Came home with a sore throat from yelling...and then I see posts that the crowd sucked. Go figure.

2nd time you've posted that. Link please? Because I've only seen something like that referred to Indy.

Commanders were accused of doing that earlier this year too.

I never claimed to.

But anonymity is the great gift of the internet. Anyone of us can say anything at all.

Now, excuse me while I go and consult with J-Witt in my living room about the noise at Texas Stadium. ;)

Also, to add more confusion to the discussion - I heard a radio interview of Chris Cooley on DC101 last year, and they asked him where the toughest place to play was. He said Dallas, because the crowd is so geared up and alot of times it's incredibly hot and nasty on the field. He actually thought the Dallas crowd was the toughest to play against.

Who knows what is correct? I don't.

Everytime I've been there it's been very loud..... Especially against Washington (I've seen them twice)

I was at the pats game this year, it was loud when the pats had the ball. I thought the fans were great, atleast in my section they were.

This thread is a testament to the fallibility of eyewitness accounts. We all seem to see and hear what we want to.

:laugh2:

maybe that is the reason why i felt and the people i was with that it wasn't really all that loud as we were practicaly on the field (4 rows from the cowboys sideline)

maybe the closer to the roof the louder it gets(resonates)

we just have to work on the decifering when to be loud

hahaha who knows guys. i've read that its not loud, now sum opposin players have declared to be very loud. (cooley and stallworth b4 the pats game) so who freaken knows...

:laugh2:

I declare that it is the loudest non-loud stadium I've ever been too. ;)

How often do you go, where do you sit, and which games do you see? Those are all big factors in your stadium noise experience.

I've been to Texas Stadium, Giants Stadium, RFK Stadium, Veterans Stadium, Candlestick Park, Three River Stadium, and The SuperDome. With the exception of The Superdome in 1994, the crowds at Texas Stadium are not as loud, IMHO. RFK (1989-1994) and Veterans stadiums (1987-1995) were rockin'. Giants Stadium (1983-2001) is always loud. Candlestick (1994) was a tad bit louder than Texas Stadium. But the weird thing is that for some reason you are right about the people who attend games at Texas Stadium not understanding to always be loud when we're on defense and always be quiet when we're on offense. I laugh when I see fans get louder for Rowdy throwing a friggin' t-shirt in the stands than when we need a stop on defense. I wish I could do 40,000 pregame labotomies to fix it, but I cant. :D I can only do what I am physically capable of doing at the stadium and hope the rest takes care of itself.

i usually defend the crowd at Texas Stadium, but after last weeks game
i was a little disappointed with us. Especially for the reason highlighted
in the post above. I mentioned that in my blog, and even put pictures
to prove it. You will see the folks in section 34 sitting on their hands
until they give away the deja blue t-shirts and then they jump up and wave.:bang2:

Like i said they are usually better than that. Can fans have an off-week?

I thought the crowd noise was pretty good vs New England but I was yelling at the top of my lungs when we were on D so who knows.

Plaxico and D. Stallworth said it was very loud and hard to play in, too... But what would they know.

There are sections in the staidum which are louder than others. The endzone containing sections 101, 136, 1 and 36 are louder than the opposite side of the field (section 119, 19, etc). I'm guessing it has to do with the haves and the have-nots, but typically the closer you get to the front row on the 50 yard line of the Cowboys side of the field, the less rabid you'll find the fans.

The Giants game was a season opening Sunday night game and it was loud. I can definitely tell you that.

This has been discussed at some length here before, but I totally agree. I used to make a habit of flying down to see one home game every year. Whenever I painted my face, I'd get stupid jokes from people in the crowd, "hey there, ya got somethin' on your face". As if showing enthusiasm for your team is something you should be embarrassed about, geez.

At this point, it's almost like a played topic, it just is what it is, unfortunately.

Yeaaaaaa, stupid, boring Cowboy fans!

the crowd was pretty loud versus the Patriots. But then again if the crowd doesnt get up for that game, they're not getting up for any of them.
