I have no idea how loud Texas Stadium is.

I know that yesterday, when they interviewed Pam Oliver, it had to be loud on the field, because they could barely get her with the boom and she was shouting.

I think also, that people should not defend or bash Texas Stadium without experiencing other stadiums. It could be the meekest stadium on earth, if you've never been to another stadium, how can you have any point of reference.

You do notice on TV, tho, that the Dallas crowds seemingly do not understand that you are quiet on offense and loud on defense, or that you need to dig down deep for a little something extra on third and long to try and cause that false start.

I feel that they're loud, I'm just not sure that they're smart.

I always thought it was the opposite. They're not a particularly loud crowd, but they do know when to be loud and when to be quiet (at least according to my own experiences there and Madden).

I can't say for sure either way. Just putting that out there. I haven't done any extensive study. ;)

I have been to many Cowboys game. As for the crowd I have seen both the loud crowds and the crowds that sit on their hands. I would also say that doing the wave when we have the ball is pretty dumb and some folks do need to understand that when we have the ball to shut up. I don't think Texas Stadium is the loudest crowd in the NFL but I don't think we are the worst. As for the loudest nothing has compared to the stadium at LSU that has to be the loudest ball game I have been too. LSU vs Alambama several years back was loud

It's amazing how your story keeps evolving. When your personal observations weren't sufficient evidence, you suddenly reveal a series of mysterious player interviews conducted before and after the game that just happened to corroborate your retelling of events.

As I said earlier, Madden (even senile) > You[/quote]

LOOK I COULD CARE LESS WHAT YOU THINK....i was there with a bunch of people and we all thought the same....as for the mystery players i was hanging out with ....(ratliff,ware,ex-players-newsome and williams, too tall )

Yes it was very freakin loud when the Vikes O was on the field and it was very quiet when our O was on. Romo would have had no problem calling out plays...I was there, it was quiet enough when we needed it to be and loud enough otherwise. I can barely talk from yelling.

I haven't either. I've been once, which is hardly a large enough sampling. They may very well be a quiet, stupid crowd, but I seriously doubt the players are going to broach the topic within the first fifteen seconds of meeting them. And I can say with absolute certainty I don't need to be from the east coast to be a geniune, stalwart Cowboys fan.:)

I have never been to a Cowboys game where I have not lost my voice by the end of it. It can get loud and I love it when the crowd is into it.

This has been discussed at some length here before, but I totally agree. I used to make a habit of flying down to see one home game every year. Whenever I painted my face, I'd get stupid jokes from people in the crowd, "hey there, ya got somethin' on your face". As if showing enthusiasm for your team is something you should be embarrassed about, geez.

At this point, it's almost like a played topic, it just is what it is, unfortunately.

I couldn't disagree more. I was at the game too and the fans were awesome to us. We tailgated for 2 hours prior to the game in the gold parking area, million dollar RV's everywhere and the lot was packed with fans. Everyone was walking around meeting each other, throwing the football around, and eating and drinking. As we got to the stadium, we met some great fans and one group got us into the Miller Lite VIP Tailgating tent for free drinks and food. In the stands, we were surrounded by awesome fans and we had a blast. The noise was so loud when the Vikings Offense was on the field it was deafening but we keep it quiet in Texas Stadium when Romo is calling plays so our guys can hear. I never heard the announcer over the loud speakers at all the whole game becuase of the noise. I had an amazing time.

You never saw "Quiet we're on offense" on the large videoscreens over the field? I guess I was hallucinating.

Actually, the proper phrasing is "I couldn't care less what you think." Being capable of "caring less" would indicate that you do care on some level.

Sure.

And I have Jason Witten in my living room right now. Of course, I call him J-Witt because we're such good friends.

Anyway, J-Witt says your story is complete bunk. ;)

Why would we want to be loud when Romo is calling audibles? Thats dumb. We were very loud when the vikes O was on the field. Maybe because Texas Stadium is alot smaller than those other stadiums you mentioned, is the reason it seemed to be quieter? Also I've heard that Giants and Skins pipe in fake crowd noise.

It's the dumbest thing I've ever seen. Jerry should really hand out pregame pamphlets on the nuances of the game - or post them on dallascowboys.com. Hey, I actually gashed my finger from ringing my cowbell so often when we were on defense.

Such displays are common at football games everywhere. When I lived in St. Louis, I attended a Rams home game, and their stadium uses the same videoscreen directions. The same thing occured when I watched the Longhorns play Missouri Tigers in Columbia.

There were morons that were being loud during offense. they are stupid. But it wasn't nearly as loud as it was on defense, and I doubt Romo had any problem hearing.

I've been to Texas Stadium, Giants Stadium, RFK Stadium, Veterans Stadium, Candlestick Park, Three River Stadium, and The SuperDome. With the exception of The Superdome in 1994, the crowds at Texas Stadium are not as loud, IMHO. RFK (1989-1994) and Veterans stadiums (1987-1995) were rockin'. Giants Stadium (1983-2001) is always loud. Candlestick (1994) was a tad bit louder than Texas Stadium. But the weird thing is that for some reason you are right about the people who attend games at Texas Stadium not understanding to always be loud when we're on defense and always be quiet when we're on offense. I laugh when I see fans get louder for Rowdy throwing a friggin' t-shirt in the stands than when we need a stop on defense. I wish I could do 40,000 pregame labotomies to fix it, but I cant. :D I can only do what I am physically capable of doing at the stadium and hope the rest takes care of itself.

no one ever accused Rams fans of being bright. :)
