Barber xrays negative....per mickey *Merge*

My own experience has been that xrays aren't that great for distinguishing bruised from cracked ribs. They are useful to rule out other more major injuries such as pulmonary (lung) contusions (bruises), pneuomothorax (collapsed lung).

Many missed rib fractures are picked up on CT scans.

Having said that, these things heal on their own and the pain of bruised ribs can actually outlast the pain or a rib fracture. It'll be interesting to see how much time if any he misses.

Why all the hate?

He's with the team and I'm pretty sure his sources are reliable.

It's not hate, but fact. He always has something to say like he's got inside sources, and he simply doesn't have any more access to Cowboys news and info than any other media guy.

Plus, he's not a doctor. What does he know about cartilage damage vs soft tissue vs bone?

"he'll be 100% for next week."

Sincerely,
Wade (shouldn't ever give another injury update) Phillips

How fast does it take to heal from something like that....does he sit for a few weeks or do they wrap it up and he toughs it out....what does this mean???

Felix and Rashard may have to carry the load for a while.

We got Rashard Lee back????

:D

Barber seemed like he ran a bit softer (and smarter) today.

Saved himself a lot of needless banging after the gain.

Side note: I love pounding a team with Barber, until they're beat up and their tongues are hanging out their mouthes. Then boom, Felix gashes you for 60. Also good to see Choice out their making the best of his late carries, I haven't felt this good about a backfield stable since the days of Emmitt and Sherman Williams ha.

Hey guys just 1 question.

What do you think the chances are this is a cartilage injury and not a break when the x-rays come out?

Just keep in mind Mickey is an idiot when it comes to crap like this, he doesn't know any more than we know.

He was standing outside the room where they did the xrays. Where were you?

Romo also had xrays on his ribs.

From what laufenberg was saying, having cartilage problems will be more painful to play with than if the ribs were just broken.

I cant imagine he plays against the eagles. We need barber to beat philly.

I agree it did seem like he ran a lil softer but still very effective. Maybe it was the blocking where it seem he did not get touched much at all.

To be honest, I did not know he was even hurt until Buck/Aikman annouced it. A good rib jacket will do him well................He'll be ready for Phillie.

I played for several months with a rib cartilage injury.

Then again, I played Dungeons and Dragons so...

:laugh1:

LOL thats just wrong...

Not a huge difference if cracked or bruised - I had this injury playing Hockey. VERY painfull injury and will linger. But just a pain tolerance thing and with modern day trainers and remedies for that, should not bother him forward on Sundays.

Good news no fractures or internal damage to organs.

Well guys, Bruised ribs will remain very painful for about 3-4 weeks. My guess is that they shoot him up and he plays no problem with a flack jacket. Unfortunately for the barbarian the next few weeks will be awful.

He seems to be going aerial a lot lately, since that preseason game...

I was thinking the same thing.................but I'm pretty sure it was being safe to rest him with the lead that they had.

I don't necessarily think he ran softer - it was just that there were actual holes to run through now that Sprano is gone.

We haven't been able to run block since Parcells came here. I agree, what a difference!

The Cowboys averaged what??? 122 yards on 22 touches? Or did read that wrong?

Per Jerry Jones ...I do not know Barber status..but I feel he will play next week...

I know...That what I just heard on the ticket....Thank you Jerry:D
