I wonder if the Titans will consider this method to deal with Pacman Jones. As a resident of Tenn., I am tired of Jones giving the state a bad name.

Dallas does not need a player who stays in the court of law on the team.

if the titans cut him, they have to pay him his 2007 salary. If they let the suspension hold,. then cut him, they will only have to pay his bonus and stuff for the rest of years.

If he is in the substance abuse program they can't cut him. He gets a warning, then 4 games, then one year suspensions. However if he isn't in the substance abuse program and he fails some kind of drug test then they can cut him no problem. Also I believe that if you're not in the substance abuse program then the first failed test or something similier you automatically get suspended for the 4 games, no warning.

That's what Quincy Carter's grievence with the Cowboys was, he felt he was cut because of a failed drug test and not because of his play on the field.

The NFL's substance abuse problem works a lot like any other place of employment's SAP does. They can't fire you for seeking help with your problem which is what the SAP is about.

If i got any of this wrong, somebody feel free to correct me, but this is how I remember it, when all the QC stuff was going down.

That sounds right. But I would also add that Tank's latest transgression was a legal issue. I'm no lawyer, but I'm fairly certain that any legal action supercedes the employment policy. Simply put, even if you have a drinking problem and you get help through your employee assistance service, that doesn't mean the company has to sstill hold your job because you get arrested for drunk driving and spend three nights in jail.

Even so, Angelo references ao no-tolerance policy, which seems to suggest that Tank agreed to the policy - maybe written consent. I'm sure the policy probably took into account the league's substance abuse policies.

He cut his dreads oh well that changes everything. He has been arrested 11 times sorry you don't have to be a rocket scientist to realize this guy is trouble and I would hope Jerry would be smart enough not to deal with him. He is not so talented that a team can't live without him and believe it or not there will be other talented CB coming to the NFL without bringing their trash along with them.

I think you're being far too vindictive. Cutting the dreds has enormous symbolism in West Virginia. If you read this article on Wikipedia, you can see that most young men from West Virginia are never gonna give them up, or let them down, run around or desert them. Pac-Man cvutting them off was a huge step.

He has vast talent. There's always the possibility for rehabilitation. Everyone deserves a 12th chance.

What now, sucka?!?!?!?! You got Rick-rolled, vintage!

Only if the haircut started from the shoulders up will he change. It is not what is on his head but what is inside that has been the problem

Maybe times have changed and teams can't afford to do it anymore, but I don't have a problem with giving a player another chance.

If during interviews the guy gives reason to believe that this time he's going to be o.k., that's fine.

There was a time that Terry Glenn was considered to be big trouble. I'm glad he's a Cowboy.

Alonzo Spellman didn't pan out for the Cowboys, but I don't regret the Cowboys giving him a chance.

So, sure, if the Cowboys think there is reason to believe Tank Johnson would be o.k. this time around, I'd be fine with them signing him to a modest incentive based contract and giving him a chance. Same for Pac-Man. It isn't a bad risk if you have reason to believe that things might be o.k. this time around.

Hate to correct you, but wouldn't it be a 13th chance? If he's cut, he lost another chance, technically speaking.

But I agree. He needs that [13]th chance. We should provide him with one.

No I didn't. I saw the youtube link and didn't click.

Just being too honest. Something about a 12th chance that just does not sit well with me. :laugh2:

C'mon.

This time is the charm. I bet if we let the Unabomber free, that after the 10th or so time, he wouldn't have hurt anyone.

Some people just need more chances to succeed at life.

Probably the only reason that he got a haircut is because that is the first thing they do when you go to the slammer for a few years...that and they hose you down for lice...he's just trying to help out! He be a changed man!

I appreciate the correction. You are right - but as a Christian, I would have to forgive him even 77 times, as the saying goes. (which equates to limitless)

It depends. Does he let the dreds grow back, or does he stay on the straight and narrow razor?

I'm running low....

13th. If a guy's got talent, nearly anything is forgivable. Ray Lewis can attest to that.
