BTW, i'm not a big Derick Henry fan but something about his game just screams perfect fit in Dallas.

Dallas needs impact players and not more foot foot soldiers and something about Henry makes me think he could be a big impact player here.

hell get 1500 plus with us I hope he do fall to 2nd third rd for us.. cause he's not coming off the field which is the type of back we want and can pass block

Yeah, probably not but the Bears aren't bringing him back. If we could get him cheap like DMC and then draft a young stud in the 2nd(Z. Elliott from OSU?) then maybe I guess. Before you say: "Why would we need DMC, Forte AND a stud rookie RB just think about Romo and his humpty dumpty body first. I think if we ran about 65% of the time next season it might get him through upright. Draft a QB early, get a rookie RB in the 2nd or 3rd round, then go heavy on D again.

We've got McFadden already. FA money much better spent elsewhere.

I rather not but he could do well in linehan offense. I think we resign Dunbar. He was doing real well with tony until his injury.

Everyone said AP was going to slow down and he lead the league in rushing this year

That's because AP is not human.:D

There's a reason the Bears didn't bring him back; he's on the wrong side of 30, lots of mileage on the tires and looked to have lost a step. Take away the name and you take away this thread from existence.

I'm tired of buying used cars with 100k miles on them just because they were awesome back in 2008. Invest in the future and draft one somewhere in the middle rounds.

Why do Zoners keep bringing up everyone who gets dumped by another team as someone we should consider for our team.
He's on the wrong side of old for RB's and he's not an improvement on what we have at RB today. Quit trying to search for
talent in other teams trash dumpster. There are lots of RB's in the draft we can find one and it will be much cheaper than Forte.

You must not be from around here. Any big name player hitting the market is a perfect fit in Dallas and many here will inevitably want them.

To be fair, I don't think this is exclusive to Zoners, but more indicative of a type of fan.

Lamar Miller is who I want if we do get a new RB. Holmes is awesome.

Relying on Dunbar and McChicken, how did that turn out last year?

Despite dunbar going down the rb position was really productive. What answer were you looking for? I guess my answer is "really well".

Because there is room for role players. A lot of the players get dumped because their pay gets too high for their production. However, if you're looking at supplementing what you have, a good, older veteran can be the way to go.

I don't know why Zoners keep believing that "lot of RBs in the draft" necessarily translates to finding one who can play. Even first-rounders bust.

If we could get Forte in here on a cheap deal to pair with McFadden, I'd be OK with that. If we wanted to pay him big money to be the lead back, then I would not be OK with it. Now, I do believe Forte is going to want more than I think he's worth ... and I'd rather get a younger back like Miller or Ivory (although they would have to be considered for lead back because they will cost more).

There are several RB's in the second & third round this year that could be a good fit behind our line and support McFadden this year.
I do think that someone will have to take the job away from him because he was pretty good last year and Jerry likes him. I just
don't think we should give out 3 year deals to guys approaching 30 years of age when the peak is about 27. Just me I guess.

All the lets just draft a guy, problem solved, may want to take a gander at last years draft rookie class that was supposedly 'loaded'. Outside of Gurley, pretty unremarkable to say the least

I would be :dance:ing for joy if Ezekiel Elliott fell to the #34 pick. But I'm about 99.9 percent sure that's not going to happen.

Be that as it may, no on Matt Forte. His best years are behind him.

I'd say it depends on the deal.

For example, I did not think McFadden as an aging veteran with injury troubles was a bad pickup last year for the price. I thought he would supplement what we decided to do at running back. (Of course, I didn't know what we're going to do was depend on Randle.)

I'd rather have a rookie not drafted in the first round competing for a spot on this team than have it handed to him. Just me I guess.

Draft bust rates for running backs are very high, with the chances of finding a starter at 25 percent in the second round and 16 percent in the third (from 2004 to 2014). I don't think any player should be guaranteed a job just because he was drafted. The way you better your team is by forcing younger players to beat out older ones for a position on it.

Forte is on the way down he's 30 years old and had some injury issues this past season and only produced 898 yards and 4 TD's. With McFadden's injury history and him getting older we need to go young at RB. We need to go out and find our next prominent back in the draft.
