Not surprising. They they let the skins slow bleed on the last drive.

The one bad decision by Anthony Brown was concerning. But I think he learned.
Brown is a rookie, brown made a big mistake.. but considering that he is a 6th round pick.. I reckon we both agree that he is well above expectations at this point!

Also Washington have a lot of plays designed to essentially train the D to look for the check down.. and then 1-4 times a game they use the instinct of the CB or DB to then let a big play loose over the top.

We used to do it a lot with Dez when Romo was behind centre in 2014. Still was a mistake from Brown but hey.. we got the win and again restricted a team to lower than their average ppg.

Them playing soft is smart.

Them not tackling well is frustrating.

They win by a much bigger margin if they tackle like they have in most games up to this point.

I am happy we got the WIN. It was a big deal. I knew Washington would be tough.

Quite honestly, we got outplayed today. If Washington hit the two missed field goals we would have likely lost.

Again, I am glad we won this game, but we will most likely not win the super bowl if we play the way we did today in the playoffs. We need to be at least +1 in turnover ratio, or be very effective on third down.

Having said all of the foregoing you could also say that if we had one more stop on third down (the one I am thinking of we had the guy stopped short and poor tackling gave him a gift first down) the game could have started rolling out way more than it did.

A couple of plays are usually the difference between winning and losing. I am glad this year we are making them instead of the other team.
Disagree.

The Cowboys never trailed and never had a lead less than 4pts.

IMO -the Commanders were aided by some egregious non-calls the entire 1st half which likely prevented them from chasing even more points.

There is very little evidence the Cowboys could not score at will as well. Yes, Cousins is legit and settled in to shred our defense, but we hemmoraged most yards when still leading by 12 pts. 2x.

Washington took advantage of some referee gifts and apparently blindness because there was a bunch of holds not called either. Poor tackling by DB's, weak pass rush, and a contain game plan to expose a secondary that is undermanned just to stay in striking distance.

Don't get it twisted. The better team won.

Let's me add one thing to your sloppy post. Uhhh a loss for them. Thank you

Im sure you'll say this "plan" to give up 500 yards will be effective going forward.

Offense had to win the game

The playoffs are an entirely different beast.

Our offense has ZERO margin for error.

Agree but what our Offense does teams just aren't built to stop it so say what you want about our defense they still have to stop us.

If our defense is on the field with the game on the line I will worry but no defense in this league would make me feel good in that scenario.

We have no pass rush and now we're holding on by the teeth with backup corners and safeties. Under no stretch of the imagination should this defense be given credit, although it's due to the injuries. I believe Cousins set the record for most yards on Thanksgiving day or was within a few yards. What it's doing by credting the defense just because we won is discounting what the offense had to do. Dak, Zeke the WRs and the O-Line were amazing. They had to score every single time in the 4th quarter or Washington would have won and they did it.

I get the grumblings, I do, but our defense is what it is. I know that sounds like a broken record on this forum but it's fact. We have to just hope the gameplans work, and they have so far, so you just have to keep faith. This defense has helped us get to 10-1, so there is that.

Also, getting healthy would help. Those injuries hurt us bad.

Yep, the injuries and not having the
What if it doesn't? Seriously ... we just be the #1 defense in the league and then came back and outscored the #2 offense. So why does the the offense have to struggle eventually?

I don't get that logic either.

Our offense always hafts to win the game. Lol really bring it next time. All year our defense has been limit the deep passes and let them play from behind then we milk the clock all game.

Yep.

The defense simply doesn't have the talent level needed to dominate a game from start to finish.

They're making do with what they have... And for the most part doing it adequately.
And that's what they have to do. You have what you have in talent but good coaching gets you the best you can get out of what you have
It would be great to have an unstoppable offense and a dominating offense, but that's pretty rare

Because eventually Beasley will drop the game sealing WR Screen for 1st down, or Dak will miss the throw and we will have to punt the ball back to the other team's offense with a minute left. The defense will have to win the game.

So then how did they outplay us? Isn't the fg kicker a player? The screwed up on two onside kicks. Aren't they plays that should be counted? Dak flat out missed Dez for a long TD .. if he hits that ... just sayin. There are too many plays and calls throughout the game to say stuff like that because I can pull up an opposing play for every play you say we got outplayed on.

Your point? Did Washington score every possession? Did they win? If not then shut up and leave me alone

My point is it is not winning football , ergo "SOME PLAN"

I dont need to stick my head in the sand, be myopic and say it was "fine." If you cant handle it, grow a pair and quit being histrionic

But thanks for putting a face with a name

Our defense will get there. Another draft and FA. Look what we're getting out of what we have now
