We got lucky in 95 when Green Bay beat SF in the Divisional round otherwise we probably would have lost the second straight NFC Championship game. Elvis Grbac came to Dallas earlier in the year and sliced us up.

agreed. his ego was bruised for not being given credit. that's all he wants. he wants credit and none of the criticism.

and in 29 years we have accomplished craap.

Guess you don’t watch many J. Jones interviews. He has said, ‘I understand the fans frustrations. They’re often critical of something I’ve done and they’ve been right.’

Whether he goes about it the way you think he should or not, you only have to listen to the man a few times to know that he wants to win more than any poster on this forum wants his team to win.

Btw, he deserved credit. He poured the resources into the team and personnel to give them an opportunity to win. Without those resources, the team wouldn’t have won.

its him deflecting...what he say following up to that and he only said that after he threatened the radio hosts and argued they have no clue and then doubled down and he argued with national media that he is the only one that can ****** run this organization.....he is desparate because he sees dollars being lost so he makes one line of hey, fans are right, and right back to what he always does...I mean he argued vehemently that Henry wouldn't be good in dallas and threw his coach under the bus!!! way to create a team culture and atmosphere Jerry...awsome job!!!

he didn't pour resources. he did slightly above minimum....we were 30th+ in cash spending. we have 23M in cap space, just about the cap minimum spend. he spent enough to meet the cap rules. the rest is investing into earning more and maximizing profits and cowboys value. not about spending to win championship....he keeps players to the end of their contract regardless of performance because he doesn't want to cut them and create deadcap and have to pay another player to fill the position (essentially paying twice). we are 26th in dead cap space....he even talked about Coaches Dead Money salary!!! as if its a thing....

no coach will have opportunity to win with this roster...its a mish-mosh of players to meet the 53 and cap requirements.

he relied on draft to fill positions well enough and signed a few players to remain competitive..... and when draft doesn't go well for a couple of years in a row and you don't spend money on FAs, then you end up with a team like the cowboys. we are dead last in FA spending.....

Re: Pouring resources into the team and credit: I was talking about his acquisition of the team and what he has to do after he purchased the team, not anything he's currently doing,

Jimmy is also on record that he was ready to leave anyway. He has always had a bit of wanderlust in him.
Thats a bunch a garbage. He said that to play nice and walk away in peacefully. Jerry paid him to do so. He stated in his memoir that he would have loved the 3-peat if the relationship with Jerry hadn't deteriorated........ and he takes some responsibility. He says now that he could have been kinder and more patient with Jerry.

No he doesn't. If he did he would have fired the sorry arse GM 25 years ago. He can tell the world every day for the rest of the life that he would do anything to win another super bowl. But we all know he's a liar because there's that one thing he won't do, even though he's admitted the GM should be fired.

And then Barry Switzer took them for another ring . So was Jerry right anybody could take these Cowboys to another Super Bowl
So why didn’t Switzer take the cowboys to the Super Bowl in ‘ 96 or ‘97.why didn’t Chan gailey take the cowboys to the super
Bowl while the triplets were on the roster?

Right everybody's right up there anybody who thinks that Jimmy Johnson was going to stay past 1996 or 1997 when all his players were retiring getting injured getting cut and he had to start a full rebuild all over again you're delusional.. Jimmy Johnson may have won only one more Super Bowl just like Barry Switzer you never know maybe he would have won both of but getting back to the very next NFC championship game and watching those players actually get behind because they are making mental mistakes they screwed up this was a veteran team that got down what 21 nothing to the 49ers end up losing by 10 points sound familiar trying to make a comeback that never happened and then the next year winning the Super bowl again that probably would have been it for Jimmy as well maybe the following year but anybody thinking he was gonna stay here like Bill Belichick or a coach like the Seattle seahawks Pete Carroll staying forever , NO

that was not going to happen Jimmy Johnson it was just like bill Parcells he got bored really quick and what's going to leave this team for a new challenge regardless of this breakup.....SO IMHO , the Dallas Cowboys ended up exactly where they were gonna be with or without Jimmy Johnson this was probably gonna happen there was no curse because by the way didn't he just get put in the Ring of Honor and now look at this year you all are just grasping at stores there is no beginning of any end every team is in year to year they're changing 17 to 20% of their roster and some teams every three or four maybe five years gotta change head coaches rebuild a little bit but there's never any real full rebuilds in the NFL as we can see you can take a team like Washington and go from they've been sucking for the last decade and now maybe they're gonna get it turned around in one year but there's a lot of in between stuff there.

But most teams retool and this was gonna have to happen eventually anyway and in my opinion that would have been 1997 or 98 at the latest we would not have had Jimmy or any of these players to make a long run this is not the New England Patriots 19 year run this was gonna end poorly all the changes coming with Plan B free agency turning into full blown free agency with a different salary cap and players moving and no it was not the beginning of the end it was going to happen it was an eventuality that Jimmy Johnson was gonna leave the Dallas Cowboys.

That is the real story he's already admitted Jimmie Johnson said he wasn't gonna be around here much longer but he admitted 50% of the issue with the break up was him they didn't get along anymore Jerry didn't just wake up one morning and fire Jimmy it just happened...
You all need to get over it and get with the reality that nothing past 1998 would have been much different it might have been sooner than that I'm just giving you guys A2 year buffer to make yourself feel better...

And Jimmy accomplished nothing in Miami. They needed each other. Without a salary cap.
You are a complete moron if you think Jerry had anything to do with us winning. The only right move he ever made was hiring Jimmy. Everything after that was ALL Jimmy. The last real chance we had at any type of real winning since Jimmy was with Parcells when Tony botched the snap. Jerry is not only a curse but he is in the way of allowing this team to compete.

Why didn’t McCarthy take us or Bill Parcells?
You pushed Jerry’s narrative that any coach could take the ‘90s cowboys to the Super Bowl but that was proven false. Hell, after the cowboys beat the Vikings in the ‘96 wild card they wouldn’t win another playoff game until 2009

I never pushed the narrative. I don’t have an agenda. I was just stating a Fact that Jerry took a second coach to the Super Bowl. And that was it lol and how is that proven wrong? Barry is not Jimmy Johnson’s clone lol . Learn the difference between fact and your opinion.

Did you see his drafts post Jimmy? Jerry didn't help build anything.
You’re welcome to your opinion obviously. The owner of the Cowboys along with Jimmy Johnson took the team to the Super Bowl three times. But only one person gets credit, it’s just like only one person gets blame now Prescott lol if it wasn’t for Jerry , Emmett would never have happened

Only a moron would think this. Yeah Jimmy is the credit for everything and Prescott is the blame for everything LMAO. and I’m not even a fan of Jerry, he’s the worst GM ever. But fact our facts without him we don’t get those rings.
