Best 80's Rock Single

If we're talking about the best song to come out in the 80's.... I'll have to get back to this.

If we're talking about the most quintessentially 80's song.... Hungry Like the Wolf - Duran Duran....80's wasn't a great period, musically speaking.
Funny stuff. It appears that if your personal type of music wasn't what you wanted during a certain period, you like to proclaim it a bad musical period.

The 80's were an awesome period, one of the best ever.

Well who else would I be speaking for? You claim the 80's were an awesome period, one of the best ever...Is that from my point of view or yours?

Mine, of course!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm actually trying to understand why you're saying it was horrible, and I don't really get it.

I didn't say it was horrible, although the were certainly some of the most horrible acts in music history: Madonna, Culture Club, Adam Ant.
There were some great ones too, like some of the ones listed previously in the thread. But the typical 80's bands were, as a rule, crap.

The 80’s music is much better now then it was living through it. Maybe it is nostalgic or whatever but that variety of music hasn’t been heard since. The same can be applied to movies too
