Defense? What is this concept you speak of? I thought this was Russell Wilson v. Peyton Manning. It was 1 on 1, right?

All I kept thinking as the game progressed is what would happen if Romo played a game like Manning did tonight.
And I am hardly a person that seeks out a chance to excuse Romo from responsibility.
The more important question is, what would happen if Romo played with a D half as good as Seattle's or with their HC?
where does the 77 Doomsday Defense rank?
The Ravens played ... Kerry Collins.
The Bears played ... see above.
The Buccaneers played ... Rich Gannon.
The Seahawks played ... Peyton Manning, quarterback extraordinaire and the architect behind the greatest offense ever. Plus, they're playing in a league that has hamstring defenses, unlike the previous great defenses.
This is solely my opinion, but I'm giving the nod to the Seahawks.
I think you're under rating just how good Rich Gannon had been in 2001 and 2002.
They were far more impressive to me than the 1985 Bears who whipped up on a fairly hapless and one dimensional Patriot team. And the Ravens of '00 beat one of the least qualified SB teams ever.
This was an all-timer performance if you look at what they were facing.
All week, people were all about wanting to go defense but thought eventually the Broncos were just going to kill them. Did not happen.
The 70's/80's Steelers were/are the best ever IMO. They dominated for years and have the HOF players to show for it. It wasn't just a few years, it was for over a decade.
as much as I hate them the Giants in 2007 did pretty much the same as what the Seahags did last night. Took on a record breaking Offense that had pretty much eaten everyone alive all season long and then shut them down in the SB.
The Original Doomsday D was great as well- you look at their performances from 1968-1971 and they were incredible. Unfortunately except for 71 the offense pretty much spit the bit in every game they lost in the playoffs that 4 years.
92 Cowboys D was good
