Better Call Saul starts this weekend

I dont know why I was expecting this to be a drama like breaking bad. Lol so far its been ok. I will keep watching though

It's the one show I really look forward to each week. It's a nuance to 'Breaking Bad' - very subtle in it's approach and use of old BB characters. This could actually turn out to be the better series. I'm shocked and delighted.

Better? Yeah I thought it. I will wait to see if that happens...

BB - man dying, money issues, conflicted
BCS - mans business's dying, money issues, conflicted (take money from imbezzlers)

Very similar EFFECTIVE formula. I like!

I think it's a great show so far and will be amazing.

But really tap the breaks on the better than BB. It's highly unlikely that it will even get close. In fact I'll go out on a limb right now and say that it won't come close to touching BB overall.

But I still think it's going to be a damned great show anyway.

Some serious backdrop on Mike Ehrmantraut tonight. I can only assume his character will be huge in forthcoming episodes.

Deathly serious episode after a hysterical comedy the episode prior. Hard to get a gauge on where this is headed.

Yeah but Saul in BB was mostly comic relief don't you think? I certainly didn't expect it to be as serious as the last episode was.

In all seriousness... It is pretty clear in BB that he built his Better call Saul via the shady side. We are seeing the rise if his empire/connections. By the BB he had a number to "a guy" for any scenario.

Also. "Open a nail salon to launder money" in BB...his advice anyway lol

Deep.

The character that we saw in BB.. that episode explains it all.

I loved the episode last night. I love how they gave us the backstory and now ties into everything that Mike would become for BB. I loved it. Great work.

I'm absolutely loving this show.

The only question is what causes Mike to be estranged from his Kylee in BB. Is his daughter n law alive in BB? I don't recall ever seeing her character.

Doesn't he leave her money in BB? Then there is an episode in BB where they get that money before she does?

I got the sense that he was not welcome and had to see his granddaughter while she wasn't around if she is still alive in BB.

I don't think the granddaughter ever got the money - I think the DEA seized it and they were onto Mike hence him having to flee town before he was shot by Walt.

Yup that was it. He made it a point to leave her money prior to that point I believe.
