Better To Bite The Bullet Than Extend Dak

Well 8 games would basically be half a season. And rush started 6 games. So when I said (key word here) NEARLY half, I figured a math whiz like you could connect the dots. My bad......
I did connect the dots and Im trying to tell you that five dots in 16 is not even a third.so maybe nearly a third would've been closer to the truth but hey like you said ..maybe you are not a math wiz...

If you think one player can hold an entire team back, and in reality Dak isn't anyway, then I really can't say anything anymore. Just like Burger King, have it your way.
Just as you agree that the quarterback position should be paid well- in this case Dak- it's because he's supposed to make a difference.
Except in Dak's case, he has made a difference in the wrong way.
So yes, a player who supposedly commands the highest salary should raise the team to a higher level, but Dak is in that position and has taken the team down with him too many times.

Putting more words in my mouth. When did I say I wasn't a math whiz?

If 8 is half, 6 games is nearly half. I'm standing on that statement.

But I find it interesting that instead of making a valid defense for daks bloated contract, you're quibbling about fractions and pounding your chest in the process. Quite telling :muttley:

I am sick of seeing Dak play pretty terrible in some of these bigger games too but if you think it is just Dak taking the team down for the last 30 years, you're on crack.

well i was commenting on 5 games being half of 16.. if the defense carried him in 6 well then we could use 6 but they didnt so it was 5..i would deflect to something else also if i was you....maybe Santa should have brought you a calculator?

I wish Santa could give us a defense that can carry a generational talent like Dak as well as they carried Cooper Rush for nearly half of our regular season wins last year.

***Before you get too confused I'm indicating that Rush won 5 of 6 starts. While Dak won 7 of 11

Rush started roughly half of the games Dak did and we had only 2 less wins to show for it.

Twist those fractions around. If you can

I am saying that Dak is under contract and there is NO reason to rush to make him the highest paid player in NFL history because he hasn't earned it.
Let him play out his contract and then make a decision.
That scares his fans, but he does need to show he won't dissappear when the pressure is on.
So far, he has- every time.
There is a rush to do something.

He's due a $5 million roster bonus in March, if he's still on the team.

29 Million in base.

60 Mill dead cap hit.

2025-26 are void.

Only way out of this mess is to cut him.

While I agree, it is sadly not going to happen, Jones loves Dak and will extend Dak as much as we are going to hate it
I think we forget about the business side of football.

It can be brutal when our favorite players are cut.

What makes you think Russ can't do that?

Cooper Rush went 5-1 with this roster.
Russ is not a leader of men. Russ never had the full respect of his teammates in Seattle or Denver. Russ doesn't run an offense that is on schedule. Cooper Rush did and Dak came back and had to admit he can learn from that. Russ wants to "cook" ...which means off-script twirl plays. I want Dak replaced but - if all things are equal as you say - I don't need someone else's problem child to give me the same crap.

It’s just business man.

Dak wont be the first QB they’ve cut.

Same thing happened to Aikman and Romo.
They were both at the end of their careers. Dak’s not even at the pinnacle of his. Pathetic attempt at trying to crap on a Cowboy.

I know that you have no clue about the business side of football saying an 8 year vet is washed up when he’s in the conversation for NFL MVP of the Year.

Rush started 5 games last season, not 6. He had one prior to last season.

Regardless, QB wins is a made up stat. Rush is undefeated when the opponent is held to 17 or less. The one time they got more he couldn't keep up. The Cowboys scored more than a TD per game with Dak at the helm. That's not saying Dak's elite and give him another bag, but he's better than Cooper Rush. The NFL verified that when no one went after Rush in free agency after his stellar 2022 season. He resigned with the Cowboys.

Aiden O'Connell didn't complete a pass after the first quarter in KC. The Raiders won anyway. What a great win orchestrated by O'Connell, I guess.

Dude…he’s not an MVP.

He’s never been All Pro.

Only has 2 Pro Bowls.

I'm telling them to stop massively overpaying QB's. It's beyond insane what they are paid now. Especially the ones who haven't ever won anything.
I agree.. but its better than it was when the #1 draft pick would get paid more than established stars.

Rookie contracts were the best rule change for decades.. imo
