Nobody catches the ball.
Nobody makes defenders miss when they do catch.
Scheme is lame.
Playmakers get no reps.
Witten is a chain moving possession guy but gets way too many reps, kind of a progress stopper.
McFadden has no home runs, looks slower these days..
Dez is not Dez right now....

No. It's the head coach's fault. Like it was the last head coach's fault. And the one before that. And the one before that. And the one before that. And the one before that.

What can you say Jerry sucks at picking HC's outside of Jimmy and Parcells!

That is where it ultimately falls. He can't pick a good head coach and get out of the way.

That is all he has to do. Especially the get out of the way part.

If he does that, the talent thing is secondary as equal as the talent in this league is.

Irvin said it best last week, we run a man-beat-man system not a scheme-beat-scheme system. Works well enough when you have top talent at each level of your offense, but it can't sustain injuries, and it's predictable.

Ben on the post game show earlier that some player he doesn't did not name on an opposing team in recent weeks said our offense is very predictable.

So basically our scheme doesn't help our players, it just gives them a framework to operate in, plus our coaches seem to be incredibly stubborn about it. My 2 cents

^ This ^

How many times have players said our offensive scheme is vanilla and predictable?

Our scheme is dependent on star players making plays. Otherwise, it becomes predictable and easy to defend.

Only a star quarterback like Romo can run it. Backups can't. But Garrett and company aren't going to change it.

And since Jason Garrett isn't going anywhere we have to ...
1. Hope that Romo comes back and stays healthy and
2. Draft well to plug in talented players into our scheme because only the best players are going to make this scheme work.

Why do you think JG is so stubborn about his offense? Serious question.

CowboysZone ULTIMATE Fan
I think I've mentioned this before but when I think of the Cowboys and their deterioration over the years and how fans have reacted to it, I always think of that scene in Back to the Future II when Doc Brown explains to Marty that they can't go back to the future to stop Biff from time traveling because it's now a different future. They must go back to where the timeline skewed into this alternate reality in order to restore reality as they know it.

This is the best analogy for the TRUTH about this team and why most of our fans are just wrong. They want to continue down the alternate timeline with a new head coach. And then another. And then another. But what actually has to happen to fix this team is to go back to where our timeline skewed. Fix that issue. And we all know when that was.

Anything short of that and I just have no time to even entertain the idea. It's meaningless to me. I don't even care who our head coach is anymore. It means nothing.

People think I'm a Garrett supporter. The truth is I am completely indifferent towards him because I can not possibly evaluate him fairly.

Flux capacitor on. Set the time coordinates for March 28, 1994 and brace yourself for temporal displacement. Where we're going, we don't need Will McClay.

Okay. Slight exaggeration. You get the point.

He's arrogant.

He thinks it works and I have never ever seen him show a lot of introspection after it fails. Even back to when he was a coordinator.

He wouldn't tolerate Reeves. Cried to Jones so he got him out.

Callahan was a challenge. He is gone too.

Now he got his fat contract with his crony Linehan in the boat with him.

You think he is going to decide to change?

LOL

So........You want to bring back Jimmy?;) I'm not sure even he could fix this mess.

You're right on all of it. What makes me sick is He never takes the blame. Man up every once in a while for crying out loud!

There will be more scapegoats this offseason and I can almost guarantee you he and Wilson will still be here, even though they have done the worst jobs this season!

And every single thing Jerry has said after Parcells left has indicated he has zero intention of doing that again.

That's why I dislike the "Jerry wants to win" idea. If he did, he would understand he should not be part of the equation day to day.

But its not about winning. It's proving that somehow, someway he was the mastermind behind those 3 rings in the 90's, not Jimmy.

The sad sick part of it all is if they just fired Wade Wilson and got a real QB coach, I would be cheering and my inner homer would start coming out.

It is so pathetic that I find myself knowing that nothing significant is going to change, but if the color of the drapes changes, I get a little happier.
