it makes alot of sense
Actually Parcells 3-4 there is little done to protect the LBers and that was a big part of the problem. They are supposed to man up over the tackles. This gives the guards free shots at the LBers.
there is none of this freeing up the LBers the LBers are supposed to be physical enough to hold the point of attack against offensive guards. this worked twonty years ago before guards started weighing 30 pounds heavier.
What the Parcells 3-4 does almost completely depend on is the pass rush from the OLB who are up on the line to begin with so your nonsense about 2 gap DL protecting ILB is just more spewing tripe from you.
In Wade Phillips scheme he shades his linemen over the shoulders of the blockers which actually does force double teams and protects the LBers. thats why youll here Stewart talk about Dlinemen only taking on half a block
Any other 'analysis' you have for us summer?
He compared the two that does not mean he thought they were the same. He never said we have another Taylor he just sadi there were similarities. He did however see Spears as the total proven package.
You can find nowhere that Parcells said he picked for need. You just misunderstand a scheme and then stretch him saying there are similarities to a HoF.
Is it unreasonable to think Parcells might prefer a larger player that is more proven? Before an small school unknown with measurables?
Give me a break.
