Bills sign Connor McGovern

Well, now we need lineman. That was probably a bit too much for McG...

Ready to hear the Farniok hype from Stephen (no shot at Farniok just saying).
Farniok is better.

Last season when Farniok was starting at LG and rookie Tyler Smith was starting at LT, we were running the football much better to their left side than we did the rest of the season with McGovern at LG teamed with rookie Smith at LT.

Does this mean we get another 5th round draft comp pick? We must lead the league in those.
It probably does yes.

It’s not terrible business to draft a guy in the third, get four years out of him, although only one of which was especially good, then let him walk for a fifth…..provided you have a replacement.

Honestly, Farinok is more promising IMO at this stage than McGovern was. How quickly many forget how atrocious he was when he replaced Williams in Nov of 21.

Not saying that but surely you don’t think McGovern wouldn’t start for him?
At LG with Tyler at LT and Steele at RT. Relying on Tyron for anything more than a few starts until Steele is ready and backup swing tackle is crazy…which is most likely what the FO will do and then act surprised when we don’t have OL depth.

Like I said, I’m not upset at losing McGovern specifically, he’s replaceable. But there’s also no denying that our lists of needs is piling up. WR, CB, LB, SS, DT, OG…gotta spend $ somewhere.

He can run block, but pass blocking he looked like he was on roller skates. McGovern also sucked as well.

The ones where Farniok was way worse than McGovern, I suppose
Go rewatch the highlights of every game Farniok was starting at Left Guard when McGovern got injured during Game 1 and stayed out several games afterwards before Farniok got injured. Our rushing to the left side was way better with Farniok teamed up with rookie Smith at Tackle. When McGovern came back, our Offense wasn't as effective running to the left afterwards.

The league plays checkers and play chess! Boom!

Smith - Smith - Biadasz - Martin - Steele

Does this warrant a comp pick? If so, what round potentially?

True. Then again, that was Farniok's first few times he ever started. He blocked well, overall, except for several plays. Farniok will definitely improve his pass blocking and do better this year.

but that’s really not bad for a serviceable starting G that can play C if need be
99% chance they aren't going into the market & "replacing" him without paying similar money. Lot of folks just can't understand this.

I like Farniok .... but I'm not sure he's capable.
