***Blame the coaches thread***

Prepare for more disappointment.

Prepare for more losing.

What is sad is that it seems like losing doesnt really bother alot of people around here anymore. I guess we are all starting to get used to it by now.

I'm sure this was covered elsewhere, but what is everyone's thoughts on Jerry's post-game comments? He opened up by saying he would not address the coaching situation, and went on to praise Washington's organization and organizational structure and said how we were far removed from them in terms of being where we needed to be. Is his support of Garrett wavering?

It isn't about convincing me of anything. I simply stated JG isn't getting fired.

If he is not leaving, then get used to losing....................thats all I am saying.

We can only pray...............if Garrett comes back, get ready for more .500 ball.

Or worse. They struggle to even be average.

Romo chocked no doubt. But is it too much to ask JG to bail Romo out a little by adjusting his play calling?

They blitzed up the middle all night and was getting to Romo. Where was the play action, shovel pass, delay draw, screen pass, shorter pass routes to beat the blitz.

Our Ivy League HC/OC could find those plays in his Madden play tree.

Garrett is a bad to mediocre offensive coordinator. I can live with him being the HC next season, but not having multiple duties. Get an OC in here pronto.

I don't really want Norv, but he would be decent to come in as OC, also could be a potential interim HC during the season if Garrett is fired.

Sad part is that Garrett is not going anywhere and we will have to watch boring, vanilla and predictable play-calling again. I wonder if he knows there are yards in the middle of the field and not just the sidelines?

Jerry is already paying someone to be the offensive coordinator. Callahan is probably the best you are going to get, I doubt he gets the boot after a season.

For those bringing up old cowboys, just stop it. I don't want any more Jerry's guys.

I really can't see Romo winning anything with JG as his play caller. I think one of them has to go.

The way it's been with our offense past few years, unless Romo plays almost a perfect game, we lose.

I should have clarified. Someone "other" than Callahan that has full reigns of the offense, not someone to hold a title. If he has full control with minimal input from Jason, then I would be ok with it. I just want Garrett to relinquish his play-calling. It is not improving aside from the off line, he does not adjust and create plays to account for that line.

Every week he insists his plan will work, it doesn't and we need to rely on Romo bringing us back. Rinse and repeat week after week.

At the very least, we have to get a new OC for next year. If Garrett is still calling the plays in 2013 we might as well just forfeit because we aint winning jack with Garrett and his Madden play chart.

Lost to a gimmicky offense and a team that pretty much was playing madden on defense. unreal. Getting rid of Romo would be like rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic if Garrett and co. are still here.

I'm as upset as anyone, but this label of their offense being "gimmicky" is getting to be old and tired. I think it's innovative and other teams are beginning to implement it themselves. Besides, whatever you call it, we've not only faced it before but we've had an opportunity to review 16 weeks of it coming into tonight. We better figure something out bc this is the new phase of the NFL.

Agreed with the poor play calling but I think its more than that... the Cowboys base offense is not commensurate with its personnel! We have a mediocre OL yet we run a Pro set or 2 TE tight set instead of spreading the field and utilizing our playmakers in space. Compound that by running predictable play sequences with little or no imagination.

It is a gimmick offense and it will not last. Just like the Run-n-shoot.
The only reason we got beat by it this year is because we have so many guys injured on defense. We are playing, literally with street free agents.

I mean Poppinga? Simms? Really? These are our starters. You lose seven players on defense and you are really up crap creek.

Your right, it is definitely more than that. The scheme does not fit the personnel and vice versa.

Square peg in a round hole argument again. Either Garrett refuses to acknowledge it or does not know how to implement other things in an offense. I think it is both, he is in way over his head. His "process" might work in KC, Jax, etc but not in Big D.

Fans want fast results, especially in Dallas where losing should not be accepted for this long.

Twice we were just on the verge of FG range with a chance to put up points and Garrett played it like we were on our own 20 yard line and had to gain 30 yards. He has no sense of game management at all.

This is by far his biggest failure. The way he managed the final 90 seconds of the first half was just abysmal. You call a timeout before third down, then punt from your opponent's 34-yard line in the most important game of the season? Really??

Congratulations, you just became the first coach this millennium to punt from inside the opponent's 35 at the end of the first half when you weren't already ahead by double digits. Coward.
