Funny...I see Greg Ellis is Taco as well. And....contrary to what many here think, Ellis was a good player.

Ellis had a problem that could not be overcome; the Randy Moss BS. And I truly do not think Ellis ever got all the way back from that very bad leg injury.

If Taco has an equal career then we did quite well.

Some numbies here are not smart enough to understand that at 28 you are not getting the second coming of Demarcus Ware unless everyone that ever evaluated this guy under rated him.

First time in a while I remember the Cowboys really going for a "need" with better players on the board. I think he'll be a productive starter, but he won't solve our pass rush issues. I would have gone with King.

He can but he is not quick enough to play RDE.
No true. His measurable(s) compare favorably to Greg Hardy (Good 10 yard and 3-cone for his size).

Greg Hardy was the ideal RDE for Marinelli.

Marinelli loved Greg Hardy and went in depth about how Hardy caused DLaw to get single blocking on most of his pass rushes from LDE that season.

This dude is 3rd on the DE SPARQ chart and far above guys like TJ Watt. As already mentioned, if you like Irving, you'll like this guy. Maranelli likes this guy, we just need to put faith in medical science and Marine grit to keep the badass alive.
You must be thinking of someone else, because that's not true at all.

Taco's SPARQ score was pedestrian. 56th percentile.

This is what happens when you pick for need instead of best player available.

Hopefully it works out, but I am skeptical that he is going to help the pass rush.

I disagree. He shows burst off the line and was able to blow by OT. He is also a very physical ball player. Punishing finisher.

I agree. Most of the plays where he looks slow are because he has to set the edge on running downs. He's definitely not the quickest off the line, but he's not slow by any means.

He has position flex. He could play RDE or LDE at a high level

People say LDE like it's a bad word. Strahan played LDE. Peppers played LDE. Takes alot of talent fit either side.

He is an RDE here unless we get a Leo type at some point.

He looks slow a lot because he's raw in anticipating the snap. Marinelli tells everyone to get the hell off the ball all day in practice, if he can improve that part of his game he'll look a lot quicker.

That wasn't his main responsibility in Michigan, though, and you can tell.

There are very few players that can get double digit sacks from the strong side. Wake, Bosa, and one or two more in the entire league.

If you can manage to do it then you are one of the very best defenders in the league.
