Taco is slow off the line, slow to react, slow to the play, slow to get off blocks and shed them, slow to change directions and slow to use his arms constantly to make plays in general........never heard SLOW used so many times to describe a player...
May I introduce you to the legend of Larry Cole?

There are very few players that can get double digit sacks from the strong side. Wake, Bosa, and one or two more in the entire league.

If you can manage to do it then you are one of the very best defenders in the league.
We will most likely see him on the right side, unless Gregory stays clean. Dont see us drafting Bowser, a Leo or any other edge on day 2. Next year we are likely to look elsewhere in the early rounds.

I think them seeing value they cant pass on in Bowser at 60 is the only way you see him on the left. And Bowser should be long gone

I think it was Stephen said he would. And the guys that don't win the starting spot will play over at LE.

The competition for starts and playing time is going to be fierce on the DL.

Taco
DLaw
Tapper
Mayowa
Moore
Irving
Crawford
Collins
Thornton

Wouldn't mind seeing another beefeater for the 1 but we will see what happens.

I am not so sure about that. DLaw, Tapper, and Mayowa are all good RDE candidates. The competition sure is going to be fun to watch.

I like DLaw at LDE. Plays bigger then his size against the run, and hard assignment for RT's in the passing game. Being our experienced rusher I can see him getting the look at RDE.

Some guys Mayowa seemed to dominate last year. Didnt look at any connections, but I wonder if he is a matchup guy that can abuse slower DE's.

Im really curious to see Tapper. Hard to get any handle on him due to how he lined up in college. With Lawrence a FA after the season, it could be him and Taco for the long haul

I think you see alot of waves.

Why would anybody want him to play OLB? He is a 4-3 DE all the way.
My guess is because Green Bay runs a 34 and this guy is a beat writer for the Packers. IOW, he probably asked most of the scouts how he would be in a 34.

Why not go Ruben Foster and then Demarcus walker in the second? I hope I'm wrong, but I think Walker is better than Taco
Nope, nope. I love Foster and would have been onboard with taking him but Walker isn't close to Taco IMO.

Not what I want to hear about a first rounder. Give me a guy that's hungry. You can't teach passion.
it was also like a contract year for him , and he did good only in this year before the draft.
Bottom of round or not , a rd 1 pick has to start and play well, guess we find out in sept.

David Irving is going into his third year and much farther along - I don't even expect Taco to get much playing time unless Lawrence misses considerable time. Even then, I'm unsure.

He is faster than Takk in the drills.

This dude is 3rd on the DE SPARQ chart and far above guys like TJ Watt. As already mentioned, if you like Irving, you'll like this guy. Maranelli likes this guy, we just need to put faith in medical science and Marine grit to keep the badass alive.
Marinelli likes average ** players also. Just saying.

For the comments about Taco not being quick enough for a RDE, take a look at the youtube videos of his highlights. He often, too often in my opinion, lined up in a 4 point stance and played a " read and react " role as opposed to an attack role. The system he played in is to blame for that, not him. I did notice that he plays " tall " at times and loses sight of the ball carrier, early against Ohio ST was a good example, but there's no doubting his potential.

Randy Gregory was the same way in Nebraska. Bo Pelini had Gregory read and react instead of attacking, which is why scouts had him graded as a top 10 talent despite not being dominant for the black shirts.

I like the pick.
