Plenty of people had him going round one, and he would have in a normal draft year. I guarantee that Dallas had a first round grade on him. They were trying to go up to the end of round 1 to get him last night.

It's a position they had to have a player at, and I feel secure that Marinelli can get him to the QB next to Melton.

I would have been fine with this pick at 47, but giving up a 3rd rounder was just silly. Im interested in how the other picks will play out. If the other dl we were targeting are gone I may feel a little better about this trade.

Ugh. Not exactly glowing. Sounds like a desperation pick to me

Notice that you get one report that is not glowing from a fan that did not like the pick regardless. I bet you can find two or more reports that are definitely more positive to help spin the opinion in the opposite direction.

Here's the thing -- everybody drafted in the 1st two rounds or so have great college highlights. He looks good in the videos but I'm not sure it tells us a lots about the chances of future success (or failure)

Looks like there wasn't a consensus opinion from the scouts on Lawrence... well that's why he is a 2nd round pick as opposed to a 1st round pick.

It probably helped us a lot that he didn't run a good 40 (4.83 with a 10 yard of 1.68) at the combine. If he put up a 4.7, he would probably have been a late first rounder for sure.

He is very fast off the edge. His numbers would of been much higher if not for regularly being double-teamed.

I always kind of felt that he was capable of way more than what he did on the field in Boise since he always seemed to be the best athlete on the field no matter who they were playing.

I know one of his off the field 'problems' was staying out a few mintues late for dinner with his parents at the Vegas bowl. I suspected his 2 other suspensions were for minor things like being late for practice. But that is how BSU does things, at least when Petersen was here.

The local, ex-BSU Bronco player/sports radio host raved about Lawrence's personality, says he is extremely personable and outgoing. It sounded like he left early for economic reasons with his family.

They pretty much DID take him in the first round. We shouldn't have given up a 3rs for him when we need tons of players.

we may have paid too much for him, but he looks like he will be a special player if he stays out of trouble.
