Summary and Potential Fit For the Cowboys: If Jared Goff goes before the Cowboys pick, we should not be the least bit surprised. He has probably the highest ceiling of this group, mainly because he seems to have a veteran QB's knowledge of football and defenses and coverages and most importantly, where to go with the ball against those coverages. Everyone knows the safeties are better in the NFL, but at the major college level he was just embarrassing secondaries with routine and ease. He understands that the best way to beat blitzes is to burn them and to give your receivers a chance to make plays in single-coverage because as a QB, there is always a place to attack. Between his pocket poise and presence, his ability with his feet to extend plays, and his delivery of the deep ball on the button, he is the type of player that can very well be the best player in the draft. There are some concerns, but they are the types you are willing to place a bet on.

Wentz has been getting massive amounts of praise heaped on him, but I still have Goff as my top QB. Sturm summed it up better than I ever could, but this is pretty much how I feel. Except I don't think he has the highest ceiling, well not exactly anyways. Lynch and Wentz both probably have higher ceilings if everything goes right for them based on sheer physical talent. Goff has a little less of a ceiling, but a much higher floor, with a much greater chance of hitting his ceiling as well. I'm content to take either of Goff or Wentz at 4 and hope one is the pick.

I don't give s*#$! if he throws a knuckle ball as long as he put the ball only my guys can get it and no one else at >65% completion rate and TD to int ratio > 4.

He's got a ascending track records over past three years proving he's getting better. Spiral can be taught. Ability to process info and make snap decision are much harder to learn. I like a QB who's proven he's top of his class in his mental game. He'll also get stronger as he fill his frame. Aaron Rodgers wasn't exactly known for his arm when coming out of Cal.

Regardless....It's out there. And a trained eye should be able to see he can't throw a spiral. He sucks. Next....

Hate to break everyone's bubble...but this kid has "BUST" written all over him. I've watched over an hours worth of highlights.....I can not believe the hype for this sub par project. I wouldn't even put him in the first round. 6'4...skinny as a toothpick. I'm afraid he is skinnier than Kellen Moore. This guy makes Manute Bol look fat. Someone get this guy a steak....Seriously someone send this guy some food stamps before he gets diabetes.

Goff should and will be the 1st QB taken.

My only concern with him is the skinny legs.

Who knows if he will be a bust or not, but there is a reason he is considered a 1st round QB: ball placement. Guy is pretty accurate and smart. He certainly has his warts. I agree that he doesn't always throw a tight spiral. Of coarse, neither did Peyton Manning and he has had a pretty good career.

Goff is my preference, but I have a feeling before all is said and done Lynch rises back to top and winds up going #2. He has that combination of arm strength and touch that is very rare for a QB prospect and I believe ultimately thats whats going to push him up.

I will say this this class of QB are looking promising in regards to the low evaluations they
received at the beginning of this season.

When he played ranked opponents he was bad. I suggest sturm go and watch the game vs Utah. Theres a reason Goff was taking alot of bad press in the middle of the yr. thats when they played the better teams in the pac12 and he stunk it up. Now all of the sudden without any games being played he's superman? This is the one QB i hope Dallas stays away from. If you are going to stay at 4 and pick a Qb pick Lynch, if youre going to trade back pick Wentz. Anybody who watches pac twelve football knows what im talking about. The west coast is laughing at these "draft experts". Mark these words down, youre looking at the next Joey Harrington.

I don't know if he'll bust but I think he'll be a Sam Bradford type.

Also, for a guy that so NFL ready he played in a offense that doesn't translate to the NFL and he is skinny as a toothpick.

He needs time in the weightroom before he is ready to step on the field imo.

I see a lot of Bradford, Barkley, Ken Dorsey in this guys game.
