Bobby Belt: 10 coaches Cowboys will likely consider if MM doesn't return

Disagree. I'd sign up for Saleh today.

Defensive coach who had the Jets defense BALLING his entire time there as the head coach.

Kept the team respectable despite total garbage at QB.

Jets defense went straight into the gutter ever since he was fired this year - they were top 2 this year before he was fired.

Jets started 2-3, fired Saleh, then went 2-10 the rest of the way - midseason coach firing that totally backfired.

***Added bonus: 1st minority head coach in team history - doesn't matter to me as a fan, but maybe it does to our players who are mostly minorities?***
So in other words, the same thing would happen in Dallas. Got it.

Shanahan's an elite HC. You serious?

He was 1 stop away from beating Mahomes in the Super Bowl with Mr. Irrelevant at QB.

He was 1 stop away from beating Mahomes in the Super Bowl with Garoppolo at QB.
I don't get if you're clowning Kyle or not but you win. Saleh is the man

OMG! How much did this guy get paid to regurgitate those 10? I mean what about Flores, Johnson or how about our very own Al Harris? C'mon Jason Witten?? Really? Absolutely no thought put into this click bait B.S.
Flores...forgot about him. Needed to be on the list for sure.

The Pats are going to move fast on Vrable and lock him up. That's who they wanted and made no bones about it.

Perhaps they have gone the route used by Sports Illustrated and started publishing A.I. generated stories, lol.

Only one on that list that gave me a pause to think was Vrabel. Otherwise it is a straight no across the board.

He wasn't a bad coach. If anything the Jet's were a bad fit. Especially once Aaron came to town.
It would have been interesting in seeing what might have been if Rodgers had not torn his Achilles in the first quarter of the first game last season. That said, he walked into the Jets situation posing as the final nail in Saleh's coffin.

1. Jon Gruden
2. Vance Joseph
3. Kellen Moore
4. Matt Nagy
5.Doug Pederson
6. Frank Reich
7. Robert Saleh
8. Mike Vrabel
9. Jason Witten
10. Mike Zimmer

Choices considered by the DallasEast/Jerry Jones Brain Machine! (patent pending)

"Nope!"

"Uh uh."

"Well, Kellen did train under my Tom Landry."

"Matty's my type."

"There is another ex-Super Bowl winning head coach available? Right now? ~writes name down~

"No."

"Suuieepig no."

"Hell to the no."

~starts humming to himself~ "You got to know when to hold 'em. Know when to fold 'em..."

"Can I be 100% sure Mikey doesn't have a smidgen of Jimmy still in him..?"
Mike McCarthy is a better coach by a mile than everybody on that list.
Vrabel is a buffoon

Not an inspiring list but there are a few who may be decent. I think Saleh and Nagy might be good coaches who were in terrible situations, Saleh in particular. In hindsight their reigns don’t look so bad. I’d be interested to see how Moore does I guess, though I’m skeptical he has the gravitas to run his own team. Vrabel might be okay but he’s almost certainly going to the patriots I feel like. Dougie might be good for a year or two until the wheels swiftly fall off. Might coincide nicely with the end of Dak’s contract though. I’m surprised Flores didn’t make this list since Gruden did. I think he’d be a better hire than Gruden who just wasn’t very good with the raiders on top of the baggage. Flores defense is always top notch and I think a veteran QB like Dak would fit him pretty well. I’d still hope for an up and coming talent though, however unlikely that might be under Jerry.

I’d be inclined to bring back Mike if we can bring in a bonafide QB coach/OC. I also wouldn’t be sad if we hired a new OL coach. And then if Zimm decides to retire just promote Al Harris. He’s proven himself. Aside from bringing back Mike it’s a crap shoot and does it really matter with the Jones boys running the show?

There's no way Kellen is stupid enough to come back here. He'll have options, which means by default this is the worst possible option for him. He's already got at least 2 teams that want to interview him.
he may come here, just to get that first head coaching experience on the resume and then bolt after 4 years.
