Even if that's true Broadus isn't. And he said the same things about Lance. But he did remind everyone that Dak was a terrible practice player for his first several years. Even now Dak takes chances in practice that we almost never see in games. But that's what practice is for.. workin on stuff. And right now it sounds like the stuff Lance needs to work on is making NFL throws. Not meant as a diss.. just stating facts. He's got work to do.. but he has time. So let's wait and see what he looks like when the lights come on. We all remember how shocked we were when Dak was asked to play in that Rams preseason game. He set that Ram defense on fire and we all went: "Damn, maybe this guy can play after all."
We'll see. I'm sure Lance is going to get a lot of pre-season time.

Brees had one decent season out of three, he got benched for Flutie. You don't draft a QB first overall if your guy is already there, they gave up on him, period.
decent = probowl and a 12-4 record. His career started off rocky, yes, but he was not a bust. "period" Even after drafting Rivers they still tagged Brees to keep him. He just unfortunately got hurt.

Brett Farve (Atlanta), Steve Young (Tampa Bay), Drew Brees (San Diego) to name a few
Brees left the Chargers. He became a free agent, they tagged him, he made the pro bowl, left in free agency the following year signing a huge (for the time) deal with the Saints. Young was traded for a 2nd and 4th, the jury was out on him, but he was not a “bust”. Favre was traded for a first round draft pick. Your three examples are in no way similar to the 49ers unloading Lance.

4th round picks don't matter.
ALMOST...every draft pick is a crapshoot. I really LOVE our incessant 2nd round TE picks!

Burning a 4th to see if Lance has anything? Psshh...no biggie in comparison to a TON of our wasted picks.

You Sir are wrong in the case of Brees and Young anyway, not too familiar with Farve's circumstances. But both The Chargers and the Buccaneers consider Brees and Young busts. San Diego had already drafted Rivers (Manning) before they traded Brees. Tampa Bay traded Young after two subpar seasons because they considered him a bust.

I don’t know if they considered him a bust but Miami, Dolphins and Chargers wanted him. That doesn’t seem like a “bust”.

The Chargers offered Brees a five-year, $50 million that would've only paid him $2 million the first season. In addition, the Miami Dolphins were interested in signing Brees, but ultimately failed to offer the quarterback a contract because they were scared off by his shoulder, which he had surgery on in early 2006.

In regards to Young….you are right he was considered a “bust” but not to the same extent as Lance. His physical skills were never in question. People are question if Lance can even be a backup.

They tagged him to make sure they got the picks in return, they DRAFTED Rivers which literally means they gave up on Brees. You are only making my point Brees took three seasons to show signs he was a good NFL QB.

I had no issue with it at the time until I saw what Justin Fields went for and yeah we definitely over traded for Lance. We won’t care what the picks was if he can play but we aren’t there yet.

Our next QB will probably come from the UFL. lol

Still too early to write off Lance, but at the same time it's too early to think he's anything more than a project.
Just too raw as a QB overall still in year 3.
I don’t care where he comes from as long as he’s good enough.

Lance hasn't been a starter for 2 full seasons, so what extent are you referring to? I will decide for myself when my two eyes witness what he can and can't do.

The Cowboys have missed on a ton of 4th rounders. Low risk/high reward if he was a good player. It is what it is. No one should've been counting on him anyway.
So does every team.

That’s fine. All I’m saying is he and Brees ain’t nothing like Lance. 49ers used 3 first round picks on them and gave him up for a 4th….that says it all. Doesn’t mean he can’t have a solid career as a backup. But he has some ways to go.

I had a feeling he was going to be hard for Beebe to beat out for the starting job. As for Beebe, It is a bit disappointing he is struggling with snapping the football, and this is going to affect how he blocks as well, but it is way to early to call him a bust. It may take him a while to get the snapping part down. It has to become automatic. He can't be thinking about snapping when he has to bloc
+1
