I don’t know if they considered him a bust but Miami, Dolphins and Chargers wanted him. That doesn’t seem like a “bust”.

The Chargers offered Brees a five-year, $50 million that would've only paid him $2 million the first season. In addition, the Miami Dolphins were interested in signing Brees, but ultimately failed to offer the quarterback a contract because they were scared off by his shoulder, which he had surgery on in early 2006.

In regards to Young….you are right he was considered a “bust” but not to the same extent as Lance. His physical skills were never in question. People are question if Lance can even be a backup.
How old were you when all of these happened?

You have to understand, nothing that happened before TMC was born matters.
When yall bring up Romo yall like to say he played in a different era than Aikman. Yet, yall don’t use the same common sense when discussing anything else.

Sure they've been hitting a few but what about,

Jabril Cox
Josh Ball
Reggie Robinson
Charles Tapper
The great BW Webb
Kyle Wilber
Matt Johnson
David Arkin
Akwasi Osuh-Ansah
Stephen McGee
Brandon Williams

Definitely hit and miss. No 4th rounder is guaranteed to be good.
You quoted the wrong post. You should have quoted the one where I responded to you and named several 4th round picks we hit on in recent years. Naturally in the 4th round you’re going to miss on more players than you hit on. No draft pick is guaranteed regardless the round.

Yup and didn't Miami end up with Culpepper? He was actually pretty decent with Minny but flamed out, in part due to his own injuries.

Brees was not considered a bust. I think they had questions about his arm strength, but he made up for it by being super accurate. They took Rivers just as Brees was coming into his own. I don't believe it was because they thought Brees sucked, it was because they thought they had a higher ceiling with Rivers.

What the heck are you talking about?

I was just wondering how old you were when those events happened. It's a fair question. Not sure why it triggered you.

How old were you when Aikman was winning SB's, since you brought that up too.

He has a contract, a helmet, and opportunity so regardless of your opinion he has a chance. Can he take advantage of his chance? It's the main reason I will be tuning in to every preseason game.
Yes. If Dak and Rush both get hurt. He has a chance. You are correct.

On the most recent episode of world renowned scout Robert Belt's podcast with Bryan Broaddus (father of Calvin Broaddus aka Snoop Dogg. Fun fact.), he regurgitates his lunch talking about just how bad our 4th round pick this year is looking. He can't find anything NFL caliber about him.

Now he's a huuuuuuuge Prescott homer so some will say he's just feeling threatened but Snoop's Dad agrees with him.

Have a listen. 4:15 mark of the video that also tells you that Brock Hoffman already has the C position locked up (Beebe's a fat bust) and 5th round pick Caelon Carson (3rd round value on our board) is the apple of everyone's eye as he's putting on a training camp clinic.

No wonder Jerry offered $55 million a season to Dak last week

A draft pick that also has more than a 50-50 chance of being the solution.
It can go either way, but the best odds are in the top 10. It’s less than 50-50 after the top 10. Someone posted a list of all the QBs that were drafted the past 20 years. Of all the many QBs that were drafted, there was only about 17 that turned out real good.

total BS. It isnt like the Cowboys have been sitting back telling themselves if Dak leaves its ok because we have Lance. Nw they are JUST figuring out he stinks and , uh oh, we better get moving on Dak. That is just foolish thinking.
So is yours! What else are they waiting on besides seeing if they could trade him

When I actually listen to the video on Lance I think Bobby is premature to say he doesn't look like an NFL player. I fully understand what he is saying about Lance's arm not looking special, I think his NFL tape so far reflects that, especially when get is under any sort of pressure. Lance sailing passes in the flat and internal clock moving too quick in the red zone is probably more of something to keep an eye on than a major red flag this early in camp. We also have to remember that the Cowboys have tweaked his throwing motion this offseason so there may be a grace period for Lance to feel comfortable in camp and start playing more aggressive outside the hash marks.

If we see similar reviews on the guy this time next week I'll be a lot more concerned about the future of Lance.

He of course comes into his own his last year of his rookie contract and was franchised tagged.
Would of been curious to see how his career would of played out had he not had that shoulder injury in 2005. As I would think San Diego probably would of kept him.

He clicked later in his rookie contract and well I can't blame the Chargers for not wanting to pass on Eli/Rivers especially after 2 years of so-so play from Brees.

Also another what if Miami signed Brees instead of Culpepper. Still had that legit defense, just no QB.

First of all, Shanny has never developed a QB. He just looks for guys that can run his scheme.

Second, Who cares? They didn’t exercise the option. They also have MM on his last year as well. Dak also doesn’t have a guaranteed contract. They also signed Zeke for only a year.
This is the reason they should not even try to sign Dak this year - just let the whole thing ride.
