On the most recent episode of world renowned scout Robert Belt's podcast with Bryan Broaddus (father of Calvin Broaddus aka Snoop Dogg. Fun fact.), he regurgitates his lunch talking about just how bad our 4th round pick this year is looking. He can't find anything NFL caliber about him.

Now he's a huuuuuuuge Prescott homer so some will say he's just feeling threatened but Snoop's Dad agrees with him.

Have a listen. 4:15 mark of the video that also tells you that Brock Hoffman already has the C position locked up (Beebe's a fat bust) and 5th round pick Caelon Carson (3rd round value on our board) is the apple of everyone's eye as he's putting on a training camp clinic.

Yeah he aint NFL caliber.

He ahould play in a much more demanding league given. But since there is no such öeage he decided to play down to the NFL level.

Bottom line: you won't know how Lance plays until you see him in a game.
And if he only plays behind the second and third string with receivers who are limited as well, you still won't get a good idea of his ability.
IF the Cowboys are going to hang their hopes on Dak, HE should be the one behind the second and third string line. That's the ONLY way to make him step up and carry the offense, because he would have to in that situation.

Not to say Lance is a good quarterback but he is playing Dak’s offense. Lance is a run first quarterback and to have any success with him you are going to have to change the offense. Remember how Dak played in practice running Romo’s offense. Dak was the 4th quarterback behind a guy that got moved to safety.
a lot of people don't understand this and i get it.

Nothing to do with Dak . It’s Lance he was discussing .
Yeah but when you listen to Broaddus telling him to simmer down, you can see Bobby views Dak as a Top 2 QB in the NFL next to Mahomes- huge joke he is as our ‘insider’ aka Jane Slaters door matt

Sure about that?

Hard to imagine that the offensive coaches and McCarthy would knowingly keep him off the roster if he was competent.
100% positive. McCarthy wasted Mazi, Deuce, Lupke......... Just completely mismanaged all 3 last year.

They tagged him to make sure they got the picks in return, they DRAFTED Rivers which literally means they gave up on Brees. You are only making my point Brees took three seasons to show signs he was a good NFL QB.
that doesn't even make any sense. you can't trade a tagged player, and they would have had to sign him to trade him. they tagged him to keep him because of how good he looked the previous year. despite drafting rivers. By getting the number one selection in a qb rich draft, brees or no brees the right choice was to take a qb. once again though, brees was not a bust. he was a 2nd rounder who struggled his first two years. we're not disagreeing on what transpired (aside from your take they tagged him for picks) we're disagreeing he was a bust. he wasn't.

The Cowboys have missed on a ton of 4th rounders. Low risk/high reward if he was a good player. It is what it is. No one should've been counting on him anyway.
Just off the top of my head they hit on Dak, Pollard, Dalton, Schultz, and Jake Ferguson in the 4th round. Not sure where you’re getting that they missed on a ton of 4th rounders.

All of these people thinking Trey Lance is the solution are fooling themselves. I would just be happy if he proved to be worthy enough to compete with Rush for the backup QB job. Dak will 100% be the starting QB this year unless he gets injured. Next year the starting QB will be Dak or another QB not currently on the roster.

Not surprised. It was just another Jerry move that backfired...trying to prove he's smarter than everybody else. No way the 49ers trade him if he had anything in him.
San Francisco realized he couldn’t play and dumped him for whatever they could get for him. Reminds me of when Jerry traded a third round pick for Drew Henson. The Texans realized he couldn’t play and dumped him. Henson only lasted one season with the Cowboys.

Im talking about you not saying who busted out a #4 or even higher. Just cherry picked a couple to prove your case.

I think we will just have to disagree. Giving up a 4th just to see...a little risky....but we and others have bombed WAY worse.

Six running backs were taken round four this past draft . The Cowboys brought Elliott back and Rico Dowdle hold down the position. I’m watching to see if this yrs round four Lance can become the back up QB. Pre season should be interesting .

All part of Jerry's master plan. Flame Lance in the media and sign him to a cheap extension.

He’s on the road to playing in a less demanding league.

All of these people thinking Trey Lance is the solution are fooling themselves.
Anyone who thinks a QB that couldn’t even win the backup job in San Francisco and was dumped after only two seasons for a fourth round pick is going to be the solution is fooling themselves. There’s fans who think any QB would be a better solution than Dak. If he walks we’ll be stuck with the Jacoby Brissett’s and the Tyrod Taylor’s of the NFL world along with a draft pick that has less than a 50-50 chance of being the solution.

Tony Casillas a 1st round pick for Atlanta was considered a bust by many. He came to Dallas and played great.
true, but the talent around Casillas got better by a WIDE margin, im not sure thats the case with Lance, that niners team was stacked compared to this team. I agree lets see him in live action...

Sure they've been hitting a few but what about,

Jabril Cox
Josh Ball
Reggie Robinson
Charles Tapper
The great BW Webb
Kyle Wilber
Matt Johnson
David Arkin
Akwasi Osuh-Ansah
Stephen McGee
Brandon Williams

Definitely hit and miss. No 4th rounder is guaranteed to be good.
