It will be nice to hear Romo speak unscripted, I don't think I've heard him speak that way since 2006. Beats Simms or Fouts, and I used to like Fouts as an analyst.

Romo's friendship with Nantz is one big reason he's getting this opportunity. Another reason could be because Simms doesn't use proper English always saying "acrossed."

Bonnie and I attended Maryland together and had classes together. I still see her from time to time at Alumni events, so still have a friendship with her. I have a great deal of respect for her personally and professionally. Very very very intelligent woman and a great person.

I understand where she is coming from but her disdain shouldn't be directed at Tony Romo, but rather, toward the CBS executives that made the decision.

In Philly they're attributing Romo getting the lead gig to white privilege.

That white boy Antonio Ramiro Romo.
This doesn't mean you can't be white. I hope you post is a joke.

It's funny that she'll be praised, receive rounds of support, and maybe even some interviews over those tweets, while if one of us did something like that at our job, we would be lucky to still have one. To quote Bonnie Bernstein .. "No offense. But that's total crap."

That said, I agree with what she is saying :)
The difference is you and most people on that at my job blah blah blah are usually easily replaced and others aren't. It really as simple as that.

She's not wrong.

All of y'all would be a little annoyed too if someone with no experience swooped in and stole a job you had been working towards or knew a bunch of people who had been working towards it that you felt were more qualified.

Bonnie was never going to get into the booth so it isn't like Antonio took her job. She did lose sideline jobs to younger hotter females like Allie LaForce though.

She should not be working for Simms job. That part of the team was probably always going to be a Famous Ex NFL Player.

She needs to shoot for the Buck job, the Nantz job...the guy or in this case lady, who gets paired up with the ex nfl player.

I don't do tweets. But on another site there was some Bonnie Bernstein tweets hating on Romo jumping into the #1 slot with Nantz.

She sounded extremely butt hurt, calling it crap! Snowflake much?

From the article/link...

In a statement announcing that Romo will team with Jim Nantz this season, CBS said it will try to find a landing spot for Simms, but it’s unclear what that spot will be.

“As we welcome Tony, we want to acknowledge Phil Simms who served as our lead NFL analyst for nearly 20 years,” CBS Sports Chairman Sean McManus said. “Phil has been a very important part of our coverage since the NFL returned to CBS in 1998. His strong opinions, coupled with his tremendous knowledge and passion for the National Football League, has created a unique broadcasting style making him one of the best analysts to ever call the game. We are discussing with Phil his future role with CBS Sports. We cannot thank him enough for the way he has represented himself and CBS Sports during his tenure as CBS’s lead NFL analyst

It is rather odd that he would be hired for that slot with no experience. He may be awesome, but if he bombed, say like Emmitt, it would really look bad. Bonnie has worked her arse off to be a good reporter, so I get her response.
