Just wondering, would you want Jalen Ramsey right now (over the RB we took 4th)?
You can pick up a guy like Brandon Aiyuke WR in the 3rd round and get a good one.
Yep, I don't like Delpit.
I mean, is that even a question? The best CB in the NFL or Zeke idiot?
At pick #17, the best player, regardless of offense or defense, should rightfully be selected. Ability overcomes need as a rule of thumb, imho. Yes, the Dallas defense is more needy than their offense, although, talent is a prime consideration over need in most cases. It will even out in numbers in the final tally by way of the law of averages.
No, it’s not a question. Ramsey did very little to improve the Rams after the trade and the Jags were happy to be rid of him. Meanwhile, Zeke is the engine that makes this whole offense run.
LOL...…...yah, Ok. Ramsey is the best corner in the NFL, period. Whether you think he helped the Rams or not.
Zeke is definitely no longer the engine. The turd cant even run further than 15 yards and needs 350 carries to be effective. And he is a RB which is probably one of the least important positions in football where CB is top 3 or 4.
Look at the numbers with the team since 2015 before and after Amari Cooper. Then tell me Zeke is the straw in the drink.
Most valuable positions? I'd say...Quarterback, Center, left tackle, nose tackle and free safety. Cornerback and runningback would both be further down my list of priorities.
A lot depends on how the scouting department has these guys ranked on their board.
If CeeDee Lamb or Jerry Jeudy is available, I can't pass on them.
Best draft for me would be something like this:
2. Lloyd Cushenburry Center LSU
3. Brandon Aiyuk WR Arizona State
You think we should take a RB?
Beeeeeeeautiful list!!! I agree.
“Shutdown” CBs mean far less in today’s NFL because of so much 3 and 4 wide. You can just avoid throwing at him and throw at the other 2. It’s why paying a 1 CB $18 million/year just doesn’t make sense and why we let Byron go.
BPA WR? Why? It's not even a need, why would we go there?
I just don't get this way of thinking. Of all things, taking a WR in the 1st.
Kinlaw’s knees worry me. Chaisson has not had the best production and some injuries. So as much as I want to build the D if 1 of the 3 WRs drop I am taking one of them. I haven’t seen Henderson enough to know whether he is worthy of pick 17.
Ruggs III is really, really good. He would scare the hell out of defenses if he went to the slot with Cooper and Gallup outside. He is so explosive, but what I like about him is his demeanor, his toughness, and his natural hands. Most speed guys doesn’t have the complete game and toughness that Ruggs has.
I love the guy’s game.
The only guys on that list that I’d consider over Ruggs is Kinlaw and Chaisson... and I’m not sure tht I wouldn’t go ahead and take the WR. Both of those guys could be gone by 17 anyway (almost for sure with Kinlaw) and I think there’s a very good chance that a WR could be BPA at that pick by a mile.
I don’t even think I’d take Jeudy over Ruggs either. Jeudy is a great route runner and great overall... but Ruggs is special with the ball in his hands. Might be the fastest guy in the league. McCarthy and Moore would kill defenses with Cooper, Gallup, Ruggs, Elliott, Pollard and Jarwin.
Yes, I know Dallas needs defense but who they take at 17 should be a part of the team for many years and I just don’t think the other guys are nearly as good at their positions as Ruggs is at his. Particularly Henderson, who I don’t like very much at all. Ruggs could be an absolute killer for the better part of the next decade.
Lamb won’t be there, but if he happens to be at 17 along with Ruggs, then I’d go Lamb... but that decision is a lot harder for me than you’d think. I love Ruggs. I love his mental makeup, his toughness, his football IQ and his game changing skills. The guy will change the way defenses play against Dallas.
I think he’s going to be a great player in the league for a long, long time. The only other one on that list of defensive guys that might be like tht is Chaisson, and that is quite a projection because he didn’t do it in college.
That’s my two cents.
That’s my take. I think some receivers may slide cuz of how deep it is and I’m assuming teams will likely say someone will be there later let’s pick bpa at another position
Considering what we already have on the roster in terms of their exceptional talents, it would need to be a generational talent to justify it. Naturally, that's a matter of opinion as to who might qualify as that exception.
