Going from a thoroughbred to the neighbor's rented pony they decided to get little Jimmy for his birthday party.
Yay.
Yay.
It's a combination. Prescott needs Elliott now but down the road Prescott will get stronger on his own merits. Elliott is a probable one contract...Prescott is a potential franchise QB. Time and Luck.In a weird way, I am. Obviously, if I had my druthers, Zeke would play, but this situation does help put an end to several hypothetical arguments that we zoners tend to find ourselves in; #1 being is Dak good on his own merits or has his play simply been propped up by Zeke.
I will be shocked if he is productive at all, but I guess we will find out soon enough.Morris is averaging 8.1 YP Carry and 9 YP Catch. He was stymied in the Giants and Commanders games, but that was on 4 and 3 carries respectively.
Anyway, they'll have Morris be the bell-cow, and give Smith a series each half, more if we somehow have a lead at the end. McFadden they start slow since he hasn't had game action this year, and he only earns more if either of the others can't deliver. Maybe he gets a series in the first half, too, and they decide who to lean on in relief in the second based on that.
I hate to say this but I don't see Morris having near as much success as RSmith and DMac. If Morris starts running into brick walls early I HOPE that JG has the sense to change pace with the other backs. JG keeps talking about a "plug in another back and things will fine" plan and he better be ready for plan B and plan C if Morris struggles early.
Totally agree. Hope #20 still has that burst.I've seen #46 carry for little to no gain enough times to hold expectations lower than I would for #20 as if there's a crease he's had the jets to hit it for 3-4 yds quickly.
I get the symbiotic relationship there...a similar bond exist throughout various groups within a football team: QB's passing ability versus the strength of ones run game, offensive lines effectiveness vs the running backs overall ability, pass rush vs pass coverage, etc. That said, there are many who suggest that Dak would have never taken Romo's job without help from Zeke. I disagree. Granted, he's a year older, so the test isn't as fair, but we as a fan base are about to find out what Dak is really about and if he deserves the title of Quarterback of America's team. It's a combination. Right on homie. I'm looking forward to watch our team do this.Enough to make you wish Zeke were playing.

You wallow in your pit.
Let's see who has the better week.
So if Dak picks up the slack, like you believe, will I still be wishing for Zeke back?Ah the truth is now wallowing. Believe what you want I've seen what the offense looks like when Zeke is in and what it looks like when Morris is in. No knock on Morris he's a decent back but he's no where near Zeke's level.
Dak will have to pick up the slack. Luckily I think he can and will.
For the first time since 2015, Alfred Morris will reportedly be a starter when he lines up at running back for the Dallas Cowboys in Week 9 against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Per Jane Slater of the NFL Network, Morris will be the Cowboys starting running back on Sunday.
Kate Hairopoulos of the Dallas Morning News reported Monday that Ezekiel Elliott's temporary restraining order was dissolved, resulting in his six-game suspension going into effect.
The NFL Players Association filed a motion with the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals on Wednesday on Elliott's behalf to seek an emergency injunction that would allow him to keep playing.
This article will be updated to provide more information on this story as it becomes available.

Morris is the type of back that needs a lot of carries to be effective. You have to let him wear a defense down. He's not the explosive runner Zeke is, but that doesn't mean he can't be good for the Cowboys.
I don't even know how to spell "stymied". Even after spelling it! Too sophisticatled for this unerudited bwain.Stymied?
Lad, that word is arcane!
Shaving and spiffing up is a responsible thing to do in a civilized and orderly society!I COPY THAT! Morris has ran the ball against us pretty durn good as a Commander( oh,yes! I remember those)
And I would love it if he went locomotive by building his head of steam in the early going and kept getting stronger as the game progresses, I do know that's a CBS broadcast and I can lay on the couch at home to watch it and don't have to shave/spiff up to go to the sports bar and see it
So,at least I've got that going for me
Its not just the Chiefs..this will be about game management. The Chiefs have some advantages in coaching and now at RB...TE and WR.. their Defense is better. This could be a game where Dallas gets exposed. I am not saying that is a certainty. Far from it. But, don't be surprised if the good guys get their backsides handed to them. This opponent is not SF or the Commanders. Its a serious test against a good club.I get the symbiotic relationship there...a similar bond exist throughout various groups within a football team: QB's passing ability versus the strength of ones run game, offensive lines effectiveness vs the running backs overall ability, pass rush vs pass coverage, etc. That said, there are many who suggest that Dak would have never taken Romo's job without help from Zeke. To be clear, I'm not looking for wins here. That's way too simplistic of an approach and, of course, depends on much more than Dak's ability. I want to see him orchestrate good to great drives on a regular and consistent basis throughout the game. I expect him and Linehan to struggle in the early going...just like they did to an extent in Dez's absence last year initially in the 49ers game. But by no later than the second half, I expect Dak, Linehan and by extension the offense to figure it out and get something going. The Chiefs are a pretty balanced team, but they are better on offense than they are on defense. So as far as I am concerned, there will be no excuse for this offense to falter too much in Zeke's absence against the Chiefs.
