The better team does not always win. The talent level matters more than anything, but the intangibles also matter… Things like trap games, bulletin board material, etc. they do make a difference…

That said, once he made the original mistake , I don’t think today’s comments helped… At this point maybe it would’ve been better to go full trash talk…And try to get our own boys riled up over it.

There are a lot of fallacies in the last "gazillion" years. On rare occasions, bulletin board material is a factor, but I think you overestimate it considerably, especially since it was one comment about one player, by one player who says he didn't mean it as an insult, and clearly complimented the rest of the team with the original statement.

I wouldn't go so far as to use the wife analogy, but I know what you're saying. I just think being realistic isn't insulting. If an analyst says it, it wouldn't be taken as an insult.
