I can think of one this Sunday. :D

But you do make a valid point.

I would counter that the defense was so.... bad... this year that for this team to even have a shot at the playoffs in week 17 is a surprise.

Haha yeah but Romo was out there the last 15 games so if we would have locked up the division who knows maybe we wouldn't have played in the second half last week?

I can just hear Garrett singing " It's the best day ever!" in a Spongebob Squarepants voice.
Egads, Jerry is stubborn, stupid, and insane.

I just got the alert on my BR app. Looks like he's safe despite the outcome of SNF.

That is great news!!!! I knew Jerry would not listen to all the idiotic get rid of Garrett talk. THis is the best thing, you cannot keep changing directions, you have to stay the course sometime and be patient

Ware is a potential HOFer. Hatcher has nearly double digit sacks as a DT. Those are major losses. You can't just easily replace every position on the DL in one off season.

Not to mention, both CBs are suspect, we need another LB and a starting S. Even if we drafted all defense, we couldn't fill holes

Ware did play at a HOF level... two years ago. He's not at that level anymore.

Hatcher's playing at a much higher level, but you can't break the bank for a guy his age.

I don't see the corners being as suspect as you do. Nor do I see as much of a problem at safety.

The defensive line needs rebuilding and I think you'll see 2 out of the first 3 choices spent there.

And I think Rod M. is the perfect choice to oversee the rebuilding of the defense.

For real... Bleacher Report app? LOL.

Gosselin said on Norm's show this morning that he thought Garrett saved his job with the Washington win, that we could get blown out 44-10 Sunday night and it wouldn't matter. Considering what others posted above, I wonder if he heard something.

Gawd I hope he's wrong though. Even the Campo era only lasted three years, and that was with no talent.

Well my Christmas is spoiled now. That's really the only thing I wanted. His firing. Jerry is an idiot!

There's truth to this but it can also hinder the team from going foreword. I'm all for giving a young coach a chance but it has to be the right coach.
So far not much is pointing in that direction.

Wade Phillips gets the boot after going 34-22, with 2 division titles and a playoff victory.

Garrett goes .500 again, gets the vote of confidence.

Stacking and processing, watching the tape of football games, well.

Seriously?! This is the modern NFL you don't have the patience like you once had. So you're ok wasting the careers of Romo, Witten, Ware, and others while Garrett learns on the job? Sorry but if we lose on Sunday it'll be three consecutive 8-8 seasons and if this was any other franchise Garrett would be fired!

You don't stay the course when you are this lost

I thin you are right about this (Marinelli)

It wouldn't bother me either way... fired or kept. I can see reasons for either. But yeah one of the strong reasons for him to be retained would be the injury situation the last two seasons.

That being said I do fully expect Kiffin to retire and Ron M. taking over as defensive coordinator.

I fully believe if Lovie Smith gets a HC job, that Rod M. is going to follow him as his DC. There past is much longer than what he and Garrett have.

Stay the course is fine when you are headed in the right direction. There has been nothing to indicate that this is the best way to go. As a whole, this team has not improved in the least bit and I think they are set up for a long, ugly decline. The core players are not what they used to be and there are no replacements for them when they are gone. It will take this team hitting rock bottom before some fans wake up.

That's a valid point.

And if he (Garrett) were fired after Sunday... I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. I can see the justification either way. I don't think it's cut & dry.

Regardless of the record. I think Wade was a car-wreck as a HC. His success was achieved off of a roster built by Parcells.

But worse, this team quit on Phillips. Not just once, but several times, like the "We Quit" game to close out the 2008 season.

Loses are one thing, but when the whole team quits, that's something else entirely.

I've never seen the team quit under Garrett... That I'll give him credit for.

I believe he will be in the last year of his contract next year, as long as Jerry doesn't give him another 4 years extension and stuck with him because of the new contract, one more wasted year in Jerry era, I don't have big hopes that he will bring anyone that can save the team anyway

Garrett has What? Secret Sauce? Seriously?

Jerry just said on 105.3 The fan. Garrett will be back next season, He's got "it". Romo is disappointed about the doctors confirmation, although he's not ruled out and there's a chance Lee plays.
