If true, Romo's last pass of the season on 4th-and-10 saved Garrett his job.

I think Jerry needs Garrett to deflect criticism from him. And Garrett plays the good soldier, where the next guy might not. Don't think that doesn't matter.

Across the parking lot, the Rangers addressed all their big needs quietly and professionally and look stoked for a real run. Jon Daniels makes Jerry look like a drooling fool.

I just don't want to be like the Raiders who change coaches every 1 or 2 years and wonder why it's not working.

I think the plan this season going into it was be an up tempo offense like we saw against the Giants. No one could have predicted how bad this defense would be which took that away.

Also to be able to transform the OL has been great! So who do you give that credit to Jerry Garett or Callahan?

In terms of developing talent I think Garrett has actually been very good. I think Mike Wojcik needs to go because he can't keep the Sean Lees and Mo Claibornes strong enough to stay on the field.

I'm not saying Garrett's a top 10 coach. We all know he's been afraid to stop Romo from checking out of runs over and over. But I just don't see the magic coach available unless it's David Shaw at Stanford

lol, can we at least wait until the season is over? We can still make the playoffs, and it's pretty rare for a team to axe the coach under those circumstances. I think some of you should just be honest, you wouldn't want Garrett back even if we went on to win the Super Bowl. Why pretend that some magical threshold has been crossed just because we win one more game?

This shouldn't really be a shock to anyone. This organization likes Jason Garrett.

If Garrett won the Super Bowl. he should stay. If he gets to the NFC Championship Game, he should stay.

Anything else and he should go. Garrett is directly responsible for the Lions and Packer losses this year. Those losses had nothing to do with injuries.

Every year he has coached, his decisions have led to at least 2 losses. Who else freezes his own kicker?

Garrett is a Princeton grad, so he is smart. The problem is that he is more of a deep thinker. He has to think things through and look at all options and consequences before finding the right thing to do.

When you are standing on the sidelines, you have to make immediate decisions. You can't go through your notebooks to find out if you should call a timeout here or if you should go for it on 4th down there. You have to think on the fly, and Garrett has consistently shown that he cannot do that.

That's why he needs to be replaced.

That's a valid point.

And if he (Garrett) were fired after Sunday... I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. I can see the justification either way. I don't think it's cut & dry.

Regardless of the record. I think Wade was a car-wreck as a HC. His success was achieved off of a roster built by Parcells.

But worse, this team quit on Phillips. Not just once, but several times, like the "We Quit" game to close out the 2008 season.

Loses are one thing, but when the whole team quits, that's something else entirely.

I've never seen the team quit under Garrett... That I'll give him credit for.
They have quit twice this year, Saints and Bears games

I was thinking just the opposite. Jerry is often compared to Al, but at least Al didn't fall in love with his projects forever. When he saw they weren't working he cut his losses and got out. Instead Jerry is going to stick with Ginger Lane Kiffin forever.

Yep. When your coach costs you games it's time for the pink slip. The players don't need any help in that department.

But he's staying. Yippee. Our future is bright. Thank God for college football.

I honestly do not want him back. Period. I've seen enough.

It is now clear that Jerry is so determined to be right about Garrett that he will put the long term success of the franchise on the back burner. NFL head coaching is not about learning on the job and jerry doesn't realize or care about that fact. He really is in denial..

Fans analyzing coaching "management" makes me laugh. When we win, do you go back and praise Garrett for the decisions he made that helped win the game? Has there ever been a coach that had a 4-12 season but was praised for his great "game management" skills in losing? No, because nobody cares. We often talk about assigning wins and losses to players and how fair that is, but the one position where it's totally fair is for the coach. Every Sunday and all through the week a coach makes a bunch of decisions and then he either gets a win or a loss. That's it. We don't need beer gut fans analyzing "game management".

We have (for the moment) a winning record and a chance to go to the playoffs. If that's not up to someone's standard, that's fine. Spare me the game management stuff.

That is great news!!!! I knew Jerry would not listen to all the idiotic get rid of Garrett talk. THis is the best thing, you cannot keep changing directions, you have to stay the course sometime and be patient

You stay patient when you see tangible improvement over time. This team has not improved under Garrett's reign. The 'process" has produced nothing but 8-8 year after year. What is there to be patient about after 3 of the same seasons in a win now league?

What are you talking about?

Garrett had a 26-3 halftime lead against the Packers and ran the ball what? 5 times in the 2nd half? The Packers ran the ball twice as much as the Cowboys did and they were behind?

Garrett had a successful running game going in that game and abandoned it. You don't think that shold be questioned? You think Garrett handled that game correctly? Everything was done the way it should have been? If you think that, I can't help you.

Garrett was responsible for that loss. The fact that this is his 4th year at the HC position and still makes these mindless errors tells me that he is not capable of managing a game properly. End of story.

Garrett has What? Secret Sauce? Seriously?

Garret has that "It" factor that successful coaches have is what Jerry was saying...that he has learned quite a bit and he will back next season without question. That is what Jerry said this morning on the Fan, I don't have the audio as I was listening from NY on my IPAD. It was kind of disturbing. It really sounds like Romo is out and that Jerry wants to see Orton earn his pay. Jerry said when they signed Orton to that big contract they expected him to play a lot more and have been fortunate with Romo being healthy.

Maybe someone can post an audio link?
