randy932;1408377 said:I am hoping that Johnson is still capable of playing like he did two years ago:
88.9 passer rating
62.6 completion %
12 TDs
4 INTs
And that the horrid numbers from last year were just a symptom of the wholesale collapse of the Vikings offense last season.
Plus, I wish our back-up was not 39.
Hostile;1408351 said:Well, this didn't take long.
I was just asking myself how long it would be before you or Philo started a new thread griping about Brad Johnson.
I'm going to nickname you guys the Window Twins because you're transparent.
TheProphet;1408349 said:Well gents it looks as if JJ, pretending to be a GM, has done it again. On the day that Joey Harrington is released, he goes ahead and signs the ancient Brad Johnson (perhaps he threw in a cane and walker to seal the deal. LOL). This decision is a poor one. Johnson is not the QB he once was, not even close.
I read one argument from someone on this board stating all we have to do to ensure Johnson's success is to give him good blocking. Yeah, like we've done that so well over the past 5 years or so. LOL. Drew Bledsoe will look like another Michael Vick when compared to Johnson. BJ is like Vinny T "Lite".
Harrington offers youth, arm strength and mobility. He would compliment Romo well. JJ should consider null and voiding the Johnson contract this a.m. and go out and sign Harrington. Won't happen of course, but JJ blew it again with this one. The thought of Brad Johnson coming off the bench and having to play 4-5 games or more is scary. Let's hope Romo stays healthy and performs as well as he did last season. If not, we got a huge problem.
Doomsday101;1408384 said:I trust Brad Johnson stepping into a game over Harrington any day of the week. As for age no one is asking Johnson to play 16 games he is a backup and has proven himself as a guy who can step in and get the job done. Harrington has not prove jack.

TheProphet;1408352 said:Sorry Hostile, this was a blunder of epic proportions that deserves discussion.
If we draft a QB say round 4, and Romo were to go down for that length of time I think you might see him get a lot of work. Johnson is a patch, not a repair. He's here to mentor Romo and whomever we draft.randy932;1408391 said:I am not worried about Johnson for 2-3 game stretches, but for a 10-12 game stretch? Yikes!!!???

superpunk;1408348 said:realistically, all I did there was copy a philo post and substitute Johnson and backup's backup in there....I suck at satire...whatever.
But this is a topic that needs to be discussed, brothers.
TheProphet;1408394 said:Like I told you yesterday my friend, you worry about your own reputation on this board. There is plenty there to keep you busy.
