Yeah, I'm sure members here would not have any snarky comments about that line.

If he don't want snarky remarks , he should improve his play. Carr has stayed in the papers since his first day in Dallas. He loves talking to the media more than stopping Calvin. That is a problem for a CB.

Can't a player or a coach say anything witout it being nit picked apart and over analyzed, with negativity that always happens. People saying tell him to shut up, show us something, blah, blah, blah.

I bet he and the entire NFL would like to tell us all to shut up sometimes with the overly critical comments of things we really don't know anything about, just our biased opinions. He's in better shape and feels he can improve, what's wrong with that. Can the good side be looked at for once. I'll wait for the there is no good side post, probably won't be long.

Does anybody just shut up and play anymore? You go from giving up 40 1st downs to a team to taking over the league. Win then talk

Yes Romo just shuts up and plays and the media has treated him well for it.

Wait, so why not try and get in the best shape of your life and drop the weight and take over the league the same season you inked the huge contract with us? Need to wait 2 years after disappointing results to finally try this?

lol. I wish all the players would simply adopt the "speak but don't say anything" approach. Carr could have said:

I feel strong. I feel strong enough to compete this fall. It's a process.

That's a sure-fire way to piss off the media and some fans. I would LMAO.

lol.

Oh man. All this upset stuff over athletes talking. I'm starting to wonder if some people on these boards ever played any sports. People act like they're shocked that people do this. I've got news for you. 99% of them do and have been doing it since they were in junior high.

It's part of the beast.

People forget, that the proven best thing you can do to accomplish something is first set the goal. Followed closely by "write the goal down".

Says the guy with the Carr avatar. o_O

I like Carr....does not mean I will be totally blind to the fact that the whole D played like crap a lot last year. Carr was up and Down, had good games, and bad games, so it was not all bad. I feel he can be great though.

Dez is the only reason we are even a dangerous team.

Hard to say how much of that was a new system or no help over top or both for Carr.

The most important take from that article is that after investing 75 million and a 1st and 2nd rd pick on our corners, our brain trust decided to switch to a defense that our players don't like bc it neutralizes their strengths. Only in Dallas..

Brandon Carr didn’t suggest putting it in a “3-inch headline” as former Cowboys coach Jimmy Johnson once did. But Carr wrote his headline Sunday night when he said he and the Cowboys are ready to “take over the league.”

“That’s going to be your headline,” Carr said knowingly.

To that end, Carr has lost 10 pounds and boasts that he is in the best shape of his life.

“I’m trying to take over the league,” Carr said while attending the team’s 10th annual Taste of the NFL to tackle childhood hunger. “I get emotional when I say that because I’m dead serious, man. I’ve been playing this game for six years now, and I’m just ready to make that jump and become that shutdown corner.”

I like the fire/attitude. Let's hope the play on the field is just as good.

Interesting journalism there. Carr's direct quote is “I’m trying to take over the league,” Gets changed to he and the Cowboys are ready to take over the league.Notice how even in the second quote only the second half of the sentence is in quotes? The ' He and the Cowboys are ready to.. ' is fabrication and says something very different from Carr's quote.

So, isn't every corner/safety trying to do that? And, if so, why is that news?
Just another big mouf as far as me is conrcerned.

JUST SHUDDUP AND PLAY!

Makes me sick. The unnecessary sensationalism that is. (read the article, comments are much more innocuous)

hey, we get all our info from the headlines, buddy! no need to actually see what was said!!!

besides, i can't. seems the site is down. :)

heh, obviously not. the sad part is when you pick apart what the media says you said, and to hell with actually reading what was said. then when that comes to light, you just find a different reason to keep the hate alive.

Maybe this is the swag we want our players to have? If it boosts team morale, I'm all for it.
