But that is irrelevant to the comment of Choice over Barber, which was my only commentary point. Parcells clearly also went ofter non FOB guys, but if he had none of his guys out there.

Marco Rivera, Anthony Henry, just to name a couple.

But if there was a choice of a FOB or a non FOB...well, then we got FOBs like Adrian Murrell, Dedric Ward, Vinny Green Junk, Drew Bledsoe, Ryan Young, and Jason Fabini who you might remember could "play backwards and not give up 16 sacks."

:laugh2:

After all the speculation that Jerry forced TO on Parcels, isn't it weird to see him trade significant picks for a TO WR clone with equivalent baggage?

Yes, it is.

And if BM moved (heh) for 2 2nds, is it really much different from what was supposed to have been a 1st and 3rd that just about *everyone* in the league thought was going to be a bottom one and a bottom three? Granted, Marshall's a much better player than RW has been to-date, but he's also been on a better team and has many, many more off the field troubles. I think the two trades are fairly similar on paper.

Filed to ESPN: Brandon Marshall reaches agreement with Dolphins on four-year, $47.5 million extension, including $24 million guaranteed.

Adam_Schefter

Marshall signed his one-year, $2.5 million tender with Denver yesterday, so it's five years in Miami for total of $50 million. Wow.
That is far bigger than Roy's 5 years 45 million contract.

Brandon, I suggest you perform. If not we can give you a preview of how Dolphins fans are going to act.

No, we're trading out of that pick. Then we'll take a JAG in the 2nd.

Oh ok. I don't think we trade. Although Belichek has said he's had a few calls about the Pat's 2nd round picks. Perhaps we've already called? Who knows?

Difference between Marshall and Roy. Marshall is a football player. When he's on the field, he is relentless, runs every route hard, catches almost everything, goes over the middle, fights for extra yards, has the speed to get separation, and stretch the field.

He may beat his wife, and not practice hard. But between the white lines he is twice the football player Roy will ever be.

We like to do business with the Browns.

Philly will never trade with us again. I can't see the Pats giving up any of their picks in such a deep draft, they are going to reload very nicely this year.

This draft scares me especially knowing that Philly has so many picks. We really can't afford to drop the ball this year. Wade doesn't play rookies, and we've got a young deep team, we can take a few chances and target some playmakers.

I've been saying that the Eagles trade up for ET.

Looks like Brandon Marshall's new $50 million deal makes him the highest paid WR in NFL history. Lot to live up to this season.

Yeah, you've got a point, if only Roy would get married so he can beat his wife he'd catch more passes. Striking women is good for the hands.

If we're gonna draft special teamers and JAGs this year then I'd rather we trade away our 1st for Atogwe, 2nd for Gaither, and a 6th for Ginn. We can use the rest on Linebackers of course.
the good part is there is no compensation for Atogwe

It's a done deal. His last great year wasn't 10 years ago.

Yeah, there's not alot of difference between two high 2nds and low 1st and 3rd. Essentially, we threw in another low 3rd for the right to grab him during the season.

He should make a lot more money than Roy. He's 26 years old and already has had three consecutive 100 catch seasons. He's an already proven #1 NFL WR, while Roy was nothing but a #2 that Jerry was projecting could be a potential #1.

The Dolphins actually got him on a discount, both in trade value and contract, based just on on-the-field production. Keeping him away from that South Beach Nightlife will be the issue.

RT @Jeff_Darlington For two players -- LB Karlos Dansby and WR Brandon Marshall -- Dolphins spent $93 million ($46 guaranteed) for 5 years.

i'm pretty sure he was saying that while you might prefer roy over marshall as a man on the field you would take the marshall every time
