Thought the title was "Beer update on Romo".

What went thru my head real quick was why is Romo being associated with Beer.

Oh well.

You're right. I did it too and I have to admit that I never fully appreciated the power before. It's pretty intoxicating. Now I might go and take my like back, because I can.

Edit: And I think that nobody should be able to upload an avatar until they earn a like button. It's like earning the star. That way we can tell the new guys by the Rowdies.
Don't really want any new meat over here, do you? You saddle me with that escapee from a disturbed child's closet and I'll hide in shame.

Like: I guess I haven't been here long enough to have a Like button. Sure would like to have a like button.Would make this site more likeable
S'ok, BB, I like you and will be your friend. Idgit and JD are mean kids. If they were Goonies with us, we'd feed them to the monster or let Momma cook them.

IF Romo plays this season he's going to be very rusty by the time he's ready. With all the games he missed last season and playing very little in preseason he's not going to be sharp when he comes back. Him playing this season will depend on how Dak and the team plays. If the season is in the toilet by the time Romo is ready he won't be playing this season. If Dak impresses and the Cowboys are in the thick of the NFC East race the Cowboys will stay with Dak.

Not as long as he's active. He can do Coors Light TV spots when he retires. Have a pic of him in Cabo drinking Coors Light. Put Coors Light on the back of his cap. And he could say he dumped Jessica because she drank Bud Light.

I agree.

My biggest fear is they go overly conservative with Dak hoping he can hold down the fort for a brittle Romo to come back. Get creative, tailor the offense for Dak and lets get balling. We can open up the entire playbook with Dak. If they do it right he could provide us with some advantages. Growing pains aside.
I agree. Probably not going to do anything this season anyway. We have to see if we have a future QB or not.

That's what I thought the minute Romo crumpled to the ground. 2016 is done. And if Dak is real, we can really address this D in 2017 and not have to use a 1st rounder on a QB.

I just remembered, I found my Romo jersey this past Saturday. First and only time I wore it he got injured in the 2012 Commander game.

I feel partially responsible.
Burn it. And bury the ashes.

I'm guessing on the longer time frame for Romo's recovery. He's just physically older; your body doesn't snap back like it used to. He needs time to heal and then more time to get his body acclimated to the strain of playing football. If you remember last year, he came back against Miami and was a bit shaky and the next week he was even worse against the Panthers.

So, the same as has been stated. Could miss one month of the season, could miss two months of the season.

If it's two months, and Prescott hasn't imploded, I'm keeping the rookie on the field.
For sure it all depends.

I'm all for just keeping Romo as our backup going forward.

And for the next 2 years and then let him retire.

Jerry will not redo his deal..

he will pay Romo off and DAK will get his contract redone once Romo retires.

And Romo could help DAK win a SB and get his ring, too.

This could be beautiful.

You are totally responsible. We need an inventory of other players' jerseys you have and sincerely hope they're retired or Doug Free's.
Yeah bro, I'll buy you some Doug Free Jerseys. Wear one like once a day.
I'm just kidding, I don't want Free to get hurt, maybe step up the pass protection but not hurt.
But seriously though, wear your Aikman jersey so he stops calling our games. Him and Buck are annoying

People are saying that after the fact, but I thin he really just was a 4th round pick all along. Teams didn't seriously question his character, even after the DUI. They questioned his mechanics and his ability to adapt quickly to a pro style offense.
Seems like he adopted quickest to the pro game then any other rookie, this just goes to show how much the draft, scouting, and player evaluation is about luck and opportunity. The Eagles and the Rams put all their chips into the middle of the table for their QB's based on scouting and player evaluations. If Dak tears it up in the regular season like he did in the preseason then this is one of the biggest coups since, well getting Romo as a FA, or the patriots getting Brady in the 6th.

No doubt. It looks like he adapted incredibly quickly.

We'll find out for sure in week one. The Giants are going to bring the house at him. Can't wait.

The way things look it's just a matter of time before he gets injured again. This is the NFL.

They'll bring it until they pay. Hopefully the first time they blitz he'll hit Dez for an 80 yard TD on that back shoulder throw he loves, and the second time he hands off to Elliott on a draw and watches Zeke take it 90 yards for the TD. That should be payment enough to calm them right down.

We were always big proponents of Romo when others hated him. Without that guy we would have probably be 2-14, 3-13 every season for 10 years. I appreciate what he has done but reality is reality. The guy's body has been ravaged and he came into camp this year looking like a Dad. Love the guy but he has had his career. Time to move on as you said.

Wow buddy................Well said. Toast the Cowboys future.
