So now, all the ones that did not want gordon, going to come in and say..hey we could have had him for a 5th round pick. I mean Jerry does it it is horrible, but now since Bellichick did it, it is genius...let the "we are stuck with Butler" threads fill up the front page.

It’s like I always say, it doesn’t matter what they do or who they get, there will ALWAYS be people whining.

Prob cause we realize that isn’t working like we thought it would. I’d say Dez might even be back on the table .

I at least respect them for admitting they might have made a mistake.

That would be hilarious........... bringing back Dez on top of bringing back Butler. Maybe we could coax Witten out of retirement too.

It would basically be a giant neon flashing sign over the head of the front office:

The upside of Gordon dwarfs "good". He's a true #1 type WR in this league. The baggage is an issue but for a 5th?

No brainer.
I said good because of his addiction problem, to me it was worth a chance for a fifth, only reason I see it wasn't done is the problem with the substance abusers on the team and maybe they don't want another doper.

Can't wait to see a deep pass early to Butler to only see him on the bench the rest of the game.

He was good on deep passes last season. He had a 77% catch rate on passes over 20 yards. Dez had a 21% catch rate on those passes.

Big targets are good for QBs on deep passes.

Well that's it.

Many do not understand the nuances of the position.

One WR can be better at doing some things than another WR.

So to post that he's the "same" (meaning "no improvement) as the WR's already on the roster is an uninformed take.

I kinda like this move ... Dez was a huge problem - opens Dak up to find this guy 20 plus downfield.

They’re lucky these guys are still available with an opportunity making adjustments for poorly evaluating our recievers by committee group.

It gives me hope we might one day look to make adjustments on other key weaknesses in our passing game. :))

I like the signing. He provides some height for some of those over throws . Lol

I’m not thrilled with Hurns. I think he could be better than him or Thompson. Maybe even Williams who is a non factor without Dez drawing double teams.

Right now, based on use, etc., I'd rate our receiving pecking order as Cole Beasley (nine catches), Deonte Thompson (has started both games and has seven catches), Tavon Austin (big-play and multiuse threat) and Michael Gallup/Allen Hurns/Terrence Williams.

But a guy like Gordon could have helped a QB like Dak.

I mean Gordon put up big numbers when he played with the slop at QB that the Browns were continually running out there. And for the criticism Dak gets, he's a better QB than the slop Gordon played with at times.

In 2013, Gordon had 1600 yards and 9 TDs and had Jason Campbell, Brian Hoyer and Brandon Weeden throwing him passes.

The problem with Gordon is that he makes Randy Gregory look like Mr. Reliable.

The Browns didn't give him away because they viewed him as a valuable asset.
