Signed by Cowboys Brice Butler re-signs with the Cowboys

Butler, McCown and some bottle barrel guys. Not bad

I'll agree with you here. I'll also say through as a former athlete it could be frustrating just having a few opportunities. Sometimes you press. None of us know if we're done at the wr position in free agency and draft.... But I'm m hoping if Butler's role does increase so too will his consistency. It's not uncommon.

As long as this means the Cowboys aren't paying Terrance Williams the $6-$8 million a year that was being talked about, I think it's a great move.

Like you've said, pay your 4th or 5th option accordingly.

Physical potential through the roof, now just get the mental part right..

I'm not for paying Williams that. I'm all for upgrading the No. 2 spot, which we haven't done with this move. You might look at it as the fourth or fifth option, but I look at it as getting another player who can put pressure on the defense. That opens things up even more for your first, second and third options.

Taking a step back at No. 2 receiver doesn't make us stronger. ... But I'm OK with this move for depth purposes.

We got Butler...Our New #2... So who needs Britt now.
We're done so on to the draft. FA is finished after McCown signs.

No, I'm not saying re-signing Butler is "the answer", just that I much prefer that to overpaying Williams to be that 4th or 5th option. I don't think that this closes the book on anything else.

Honestly, some people here are down on him, I think opposite Dez he can have a good year. He made some big catches for us this season.

I'm not down on him per say... I just look at him as a WR who is entering his 5th year in the league and has averaged 16 catches 215 yards over his career. He has never broken 300 yards.

I don't think he has it in him to be anything other than a WR4/WR5 and, when circumstances warrant it, temporarily a WR3.

As you aren't planning on him having sort of magical "break-out" year, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Not based on Garcon's reported numbers from San Francisco! :omg:

Be careful with that though. That could be a strangely structured deal that won't have much of an effect on the market.

What do you think he'll get?

Maybe I am totally in left field but I think he's going to get less than Marshall.

I think he gets more than that $6 million a year average. I think the Giants really got a deal.

I think that this market is set to be all kinds of crazy.

I think they are going to sign someone else. I dont think Butler is the going to be the starter.
Who do you see as our starting #2 then? I'm hoping it's someone in the draft, but I suppose time will tell.

Honestly with an increased role butler could put up Williams numbers. They're both dumb players with average hands but decent #4 options. (Dez,Beasley, witten)

I'm happy. He's my pet cat. He just needs to be consistent. The talent is there.
