Davis should still start, but Watkins shouldn't be left home in Dallas. He should be in there for relief and special teams until he starts to make more plays.

I think Watkins' problem was thinking. He is a rookie and had to think about how he was tackling, how he gave up a TD because he was underneath the WR, then because he was over the top.

I liked what I saw except for a couple bad plays and feel that if he can get game experience here and there, we will see dividends near the end of the season or playoffs(crossing fingers) when it becomes more natural.

Roy Williams, Keith Davis and Marcus Coleman cost us the game Sunday, so what's the difference and they are NOT rookies, like I said with the Drew Bledsoe situation I'll stomach a rookie making the mistakes but not a veteran!

This is what Beast does not understand with Parcells. Vets can play like crap and he sticks with them and rookies make mistakes and they are "voted off the island". Watkins was not even on the bench, Parcells wont even let him travel with the team on road games now!!!

Watkins was in position to make plays, but didnt. Coleman/Davis are not even in position most of the time. It was stupid to start the season with either a rookie or a castoff at such a crucial position.

Is it really so hard for people to see that while Watkins was starting we got burned deep consistently and while Davis has been starting we haven't?

Have you all really forgotten the THREE (3) TD's Watkins gave up against Philly - Parcells essentially pinned the loss completely on Watkins.

Or have you forgotten Watkins playing spectator as he watched Buress pull in a deep TD pass even though he was in a position to make a play on the ball?

Obviously Davis isn't the long term solution, and Watkins "may" (or may not) prove to be, but for now deep passes aren't beating us the way they were.

We also played the Commanders with weak-armed Brunell, who didn't have Santana Moss...

Anthony Henry had a sure interception against Cooley, and almost gave up a big play against Keyshawn...

He also held a couple of players, being beat on a double move, but he was called for holding if I remember correctly..

We're just lucky we haven't been beat more...

The difference right now is that no one is going deep on us the last two games. And the long pass that Key dropped, there was no safety there to make a play had he caught it. That's the issue.

like it has been said, at least we know Watkins will be where he is supposed to be, he just needed to work on making a play on the ball.

And it's not like KD or Coleman haven't given up scores. Coleman is the one at fault on the Cooley TD, and Parcell's pretty much stated that fact. And Portis wouldn't have scored on that run if KD didn't take the worst angle on a play that i have ever seen.

Bottom line right now is that all 3 of them are screwing up, and i would rather stick with the rookie that will grow into the job and hopefully become the guy we read about in training camp. Let's let the vets back up, b/c i think that is all they are good for.

And remember that Parcells continues to rave about how good Watkins is on special teams, and that is what really confuses me about having him not even make the trips.

Now KD is also very good on ST, but that is where he should stay.

Perhaps no one is going deep because people are COVERED deep ........

The reason that there wasn't a safety on the Keyshawn drop is because we were BLITZING our safeties .......

I don't care what excuses anyone makes, the deep passes aren't hurting us and costing us games like they were, and that's what matters.

Any player that gives up THREE scores on deep passes in a SINGLE GAME just isn't quite ready yet.

I certainly recognize Davis has limitations, so I'm all for working with Watkins and working him into the defense in certain situations, and hopefully getting him prepared to retake the starting position at some point (hopefully within a few weeks), but for now I don't want to lose more games while we suffer through his learning curve.

We are sticking with Romo because he is playing well and not costing us games.

Watkins was costing us games, so the comparison isn't fair.

Haven't you noticed that we haven't been getting burned on deep passes in the last 2 weeks since Watkins has been on the bench - why would you want to go back to the way it was?

They don't watch the games:confused:
