Growing pains suck, but that's what we are seeing. Let's not throw out the baby with the bathwater because of ones immaturity. Give him 3 years to mature into something more
Then we can regrade.
You are correct and for what I've seen the way you came in here right after the draft his work ethic and training camp seems like a solid kid to me and it works I don't think he's going to be bad but he may not be a left tackle we may have to put him back at right tackle which is perfect timing right I mean Terrence Steele is not playing well.... Steele might end up having to be our swing tackle

I've been saying this since guyton got hurt the first time before the bye week I don't understand why they're hesitant just to move Tyler back to left tackle use bass at left guard and then put guyton in for steal and let guyton sit and chew on that for a little while maybe he needs to be reminded he's not the only player on this team and that his bad play is not gonna be acceptable the problem with this offensive line this year when you have both your tackles struggling your quarterback and run game doesn't have much of a chance they literally taking turns and then you add to the fact that Martin is also having some bad games he's injured like this was never gonna get off the ground and they're gonna go and blame the rookie..

I mean the positive that comes out of the video and that we saw was Richards is not that bad maybe they groom him at left tackle but in the short term they should have never stood pat I'd like the other lineup I just described I don't get it why This is why I don't like this coaching staff at all I don't like the offensive coordinator the offensive line coach and I for sure don't like the head coach right now I mean this coaching staff's unwilling to change anything from training camp it's like Oh no that has to be it Tyler Smith saying left guard only no he's not if you truly need a left tackle you use your best player there that would be Tyler you go and put bass because at least inside he can have help and he can at least stand as good as Connor McGovern or Connor Williams I can see bass being that guy.. I prefer my best players being on the left tackle and they're unwilling to do that long term and that was really dumb in my opinion but that's just my opinion...

Too much was laid onto Guyton and Mazi immediately. That's the truth. Unfair standard, which sets them up for perceived failure. This, being called busts. We fans need to exercise great patience. Young dudes today are a different animal. That's where I feel coaching and culture come in. That's why in part, they been struggling. The foundation in Dallas has tons of cracks in it. Can't build your house on sand! We need a major culture shift and younger coaches, especially at Oline. Solari ain't getting the message thru. I'd hire Travis Frederick as our Oline coach . Need a young hc too.

I agree. He(Guyton)just screams right tackle to me. Asim Richards looks like a gem. I think he might be our eventual starter at LT. Then we can leave Smith at LG. I like Richards better than most.

Correct but I'm talking about we could have just spit the lex four or five weeks from the bye week on to make our team better with the players we already had on it versus worrying about next year you should be trying to win every game this year by putting your best players on the field in the best positions and this is the worst coaching staff I've ever seen in doing that it's like they just don't feel like it like they're stubborn they literally I think we would have had a better record by now had we done better with the offensive line lineup right after guyton went down and we saw that they played pretty well in that lineup so now you play that same way but now you take out steel making the swing tackle and then when guy had came back he played right tackle and we could have seen would it look like for four or five weeks the fact is you can add in the fact why wasn't Rico dowdell seeing what we've seen now the actual starting running back from day one getting 15 to 20 carries every game no matter what situational football look like and if he got hurt he got hurt then we could played around with running back by committee rico's good enough to be a starter that can have an efficient run game it won't be elite it won't be dynamic but that's the same type of thing they're using with Kareem hunt in Kansas City you just have to scheme better and put the better players this whole experiment with the running back by committee was never necessary yes you would use other running backs and then my other thought was why in the world would you use hunter and zeke both active on the same games..

They provide about the same thing once just younger and has a better future once about to be washed up but I think your other can still contribute but I don't think neither should have ever been on the field at the same time that was a waste you bring up dalvin cook if you wanna use hunter more in the game plan dalvin brings something else to the run game if you weren't gonna utilize Vaughn the way he would best be used in the NFL then why even bother ever activating him this coaching staff drives me crazy we're not experts but our eyes tell us what we see could work and what didn't work and yet you just roll out the same junk for eight weeks..

Just UGGHH

When unsourced rumors start flying around, I always give players the benefit of the doubt. Simply as people, they deserve that much.

If there's something concrete the player has done, then I might listen. If you are say Johnny Football, and you're photographed running around in a Scooby-Doo costume with a couple of co-eds the night before a game, those "rumors" of your "questionable work ethic" become more believable.

But to my knowledge, Guyton's never had anything like that come to light. And so I'm just going to ignore the noise until there is.

I did watch the full video and that's when I went back to the original poster and told him he exaggerated he started this rumor him blowing it all up to some proportion that it actually wasn't is why we're sitting here having this conversation but he did not post that video earlier it went 4 pages before he posted a video so that was on him the OP should be ashamed of himself...
I’m deeply ashamed. I’ll go find a counselor and admit my sins. I listened to the audio version on Apple Podcasts in the car when I heard this. and then it dawned on me they also do a YouTube video so I went to find it and posted it for clarification.

Don’t believe everything you hear. Today I saw Broaddus hint that someone with the team simply said that Guyton has some growing up to do. That could mean anything, most of it bad, but maybe a rookie with a sore neck and shoulder shouldn’t be asked to play when he’s not at full strength. I was happy to see Richards finally on the field.
Exactly... Putting that kid out there when he's compromised on something as critical as the neck would have been borderline malpractice. The neck aint nothin to play with. If you get a shooting pain down half your body every time you make contact with another player or just coming up out of your stance you're not likely to play all that well.

Yes, you want players to be mentally tough and have a burning desire to win. Randy White never quit, even in games where the final result was very obviously already decided. I remember Landry taking White out of a game once when the score was like 42-10 or such, and White looked totally shocked when he was told to sit down.

But really, can you blame him? He's a rookie, if he takes care of himself, he can give the Cowboys at least 3 more years of service and has time to get better. Playing hurt and possibly aggravating the injury and ruining his career is not worth it on this team this year, I'd personally rather let him heal up as completely as possible and be ready to go next year.

Supposedly Guyton is soft and could play but is choosing not to. At the Senior Bowl he wanted to go home after getting beat and they had to beg him to stay.

2 first round picks in a row mentally weak. I’ve been McClays biggest advocate but it may be time to go.
Where did they say this? I cant find anything

Sounds like scouting lazyness, or is it on Jerry for not checking the guy out? Somebody is not doing their job. I'd sure be looking to find out who it was!
