Just mentioned that things weren’t going well with Hill and how he followed up a bad week by almost missing the team flight. You know it’s not good when even THAT GUY is critical.

That’s nothing. Broaddus was much more critical but not to the point where he would get fired. I’ve heard him say a lot worse.

I mentioned just over a week ago that it could be something along those lines. It seems to be a common theme these days. However, anyone who thinks his departure had nothing to do with a rift and that he simply found a better opportunity is kidding themselves.

I was wondering the same thing about Broaddus. I was thinking it was either an illness or he was suspended for something improper. Talkin’ Cowboys isn’t the same without him. No one can cut someone off and take over a show like him. He loves talking football. lol

https://cowboyszone.com/threads/bryan-broaddus-any-updates-with-him-not-on-talkin-cowboys.445352/

1. He definitely got fired. Comments by people that know him like Tim MacMahon tweeting that is was a bad decision by the Cowboys.

2. No send-off by co-workers on the shows.

Now Broaddus obviously claims it was his decision but what else would he say.

Reasons to get fired:
1. Opinions - Highly unlikely. The Cowboys are unlikely to fire someone during the season for that type of issue.

2. A female complained about harassment. This is the type of issue that would get him fired during the season.

3. Broaddus made a power-play to become the "boss" or tried to get Eagleton fired. Maybe but it would have to be a big ruckus for them to fire him during the season.

yes but you work for the radio station not the team.

Thanks.

I’m just thinking that if the team had fired him the flagship station wouldn’t immediately hire him or work with him.

I don't think it was a "firing".
Most media types work on contract and when it expires they quietly sit while negotiating.
Now it's possible they didn't offer him anything at all but I find that unlikely.
More likely they squeezed him a bit or offered him no raise/bonus and he felt compelled to leave.

I don't see him openly lying about it claiming it was his decision unless he did have a decision to make.

I think this is similar to Ben and Skin whereas Jesse Holley was actually fired. When fired you get a box and grab stuff than get escorted out.
If that happened at The Star everyone would know in short order.
He didn't waltz in front of hundreds in Wahlburgers with a box lol.

Good point. That's why McMahon could be telling the truth when he said it was a poor decision by the Cowboys. They decided not to offer him what he wanted.
Same thing with Garrett. They don't have to technically fire him after the season, just don't try to resign him

Talking Cowboys is now unbearable to listen to. I haven't listened to the show since finding out Broaddus left. I just go straight into the break and then HWTB. Mickey drags the show down into the mud.

BTW.....Jesse's breakdown on the inner workings of the Patriots organization was awesome yesterday on HWTB.
HWTB is not bad when they actually talk Cowboys football. Most of the time it’s painful to sit through the fluff.

That seems unlikely. Eagleton is good at what he does, gets on fine with Broaddus, and probably wrote the most supportive tweet from the team for Broaddus.

If it was some sexual harassment issue, no one would have given Broaddus a positive farewell on twitter.

Mickey seems the most *likely* reason to me. Team demands Broaddus tones down the criticisms of Mickey, and Broaddus says KMA. Or just decides he isn't willing to bite his tongue on a show with Mickey anymore. Being on that show was not doing Broaddus any favors in terms of his body of work. He was screwed when they took him off The Break.
Broaddus was just pecking at Mickey during that last show. It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't professional either. Pretty open hostility. They didn't play well together, and for some reason that escapes me, they like Mickey. They'll have to find someone who can get along better with Mickey as the football analyst for that show.

Derek and Nick are pros, and don't make it personal. Both Mickey and Broaddus do. Mickey and Broaddus needed to be split up. Derek and Nick needed to be split up to balance quality on the shows, but Derek probably wasn't having that. But for Broaddus, Talking Cowboys is the reject pile. Giving them Broaddus instead of Helman was the bone Derek was willing to throw.

I can’t recall Derek being on the same show with Mickey. Anyone else know if they have on any regular basis?

#2.....Even if this was the case his tenure would warrant due process and if this was anywhere near true, I highly doubt he'd find work as quickly, especially in the same industry.
#3.....Pretty sure I read a tweet of Eagleton throwing him quiet a few carrots, so this one I don't see.

#1.....Before I answer here I need to know if he had a contract or was a salaried employee. Maybe this was all part of his exit strategy. To make them fire him, knowing he's had another offer that's been on the table in his pocket. So when he was asked to tone it down a bit he finally had enough and gave them the finger. The fact he had no customary send-off by co-workers tells you all you need to know this was done at the highest level.
