Spears was an above average starting caliber 3-4 DE before injuries derailed his career.

Don't want to speak for him but I think he meant Al Davis. Davis had told anyone who would listen that Woodson was a malcontent because Crazy Al couldn't railroad him.

The irony of this statement is fantastic considering you clearly don't understand the context of the conversation. We aren't discussing whether Spears was above average or not.

There are guys in this draft who have issues and are no where near as convincing that they know how to turn it around (Tim Williams, Taber, etc).

Spence seemed as sorry as Gregory, but I can understand why they were reluctant a year after Gregory

I hear you but the next person isn't Randy Gregory and vice versa. Imagine if you liked a girl and she said she couldn't date you because your a fan of the same team her ex liked. I know that isn't the best example but I know you get what I'm saying lol. To be successful you have to take educated chances and if you're always second guessing yourself you won't be in much that you do.

I'm saying that selecting more predictable players despite a lower ceiling is more effective then trying to hit on high ceiling players with a lot of question marks. That is what Jones does every year and it hasn't worked.
