You just start following this team?
LOL...no kidding!
You just start following this team?
He said he would not fire wade mid season. And he did. That was a unique circumstance. That team totally folded mid season.
Even then most of his answers were dodges. He kept saying he would wait until the end of the year to make coaching decisions. It was not an affirmative "there is no way we will fire Wade". The total lack of effort displayed in the GB game forced his hand and he had to act earlier then he otherwise would.

True but then this team is getting healthy right now. Ware claims to be feeling as good as he has at any point with the bye then the long week leading up to this game. Lee is back as well. I don't think Garrett can survive a 3rd season in a row of being at the door and not making it through and I do say this as a guy who is pulling for Garrett
Yep it's not uncommon and is exactly what he should do. If JJ comes out publicly saying if JG doesn't get us to the playoffs he's gone, we'd have an even bigger circus at VRThing is people act as if it is a Jerry Jones thing yet I have seen many occations where a coach is told their job is safe only to be fired once the season is done. It is not lying to the media it is backing the HC and avoiding the distractions that it would cause. No GM in his right mind would want to make the job harder for his HC by putting a noose around it while the team is still in the running
If Lee, Wilcox, Church, Carr, OScan, Durant, Ware, and Hatcher are all healthy then that's not entirely unreasonable. IMO, it's very difficult to play defense with half your front four coming off the street. But that does probably tilt the scale. If they are all back then we may play reasonably well in the RZ. One thing I do think is something Garrett should overcome a bit is the offense could do a little more. But the SC% is improved from last year. It could still be in the low 40s with what we have. I don't give the offense a big pass even though we still don't run the ball effectively on a consistent basis.

I'm sorry, did he say as HEALTHY as this team has been?
Umm what?
If the Cowboys were in danger of losing the division to a powerhouse team like Seattle, Garrett would be safe. However, the only remaining challenger for the division crown is the Philadelphia Eagles, a team with a rookie head coach installing a new offensive system and a suspect defense. Any excuses for failure would be highly tenuous.
Posters often use injuries to justify the team's mediocrity under Garrett. That's fine. However, if injuries are a valid reason for failure, the inverse must be true as well; we should expect the Cowboys to win games in which the opponent is hamstrung by injuries.
Tonight is a prime example of this inverse. The Bears are missing their starting quarterback and one of their best defensive players.
It sounds stupid that a 7-5 coach is even being discussed with 4 games to go and Broadus just feeds right into it like its normal. In the past coaches keep their jobs by beating division opponents even if the season wasn't great. Something Tom Coughlin is prolly fixin to experience.
