we had the same results with Ryan here. Firing Kiffen is another smoke screen. Garrett, Romo, Jones, Ware and Witten have been the only constants in this .500 era. Jones the only real constant. Parcells was right. In a few years it was indeed like he was never there.

I was telling myself this year was going to be different.................more like lying to myself............I knew Garrett would choke and blow this division.

I hoped things would be different with Garrett not calling plays, but deep down I knew he would still suck.

I think JG stays no matter what. He's building a team for the long term. If you bring in a new HC at this time, it's like throwing in the towel, starting over.

Garrett wasn't even qualified to be a OC, let alone a HC in the first place. An average retread, would have given us a few playoff victories over the past 3 years at a minimum. You don't keep somebody on just because a couple of drafts were less horrendous than the previous few under an equally unqualified head coach.

What do you think right about now?

This team didn't fold. The talent on defense stinks.

The poor results are not surprising to me. Get some NFL level defensive talent then we'll talk.

The problem is, we have a GM who doesn't know when his defense doesn't have NFL-level talent. He thinks it's coaching, because then people can keep parroting the myth that he's drafting well all of a sudden.

Did you see Bruce Carter's lazy butt jogging all over the field? Don't tell me this defense didn't give up. The talent on defense stinks but they definitely just sat down and laid a huge goose egg in the 2nd half. It was really pathetic.

Honestly, who takes the job. You hope Zimmer would, but he may get better offers.

Might be Mack Brown. Or Norv Turner. Maybe Dave Wannestedt.

Don't expect much.

I put that on Carter and not the team. Who else on the defense is jogging?

Carter needs to be replaced in the offseason. Along with selvie, Hayden, every current backup defensive lineman, heath, Sims I could go on.

I would put Wilcox and Webb on this list but they are still young and have time to turn it around. They need starters at Safety, WILL, Defensive tackle, Defensive end, a backup linebacker in case Lee has injury issues ect.

This is going to require almost a total rebuild.

I think Jerry's problem is you need some idea of how the pieces fit together.

We have some good individual performers. Demarcus Ware, Sean Lee, Jason Hatcher, Spencer when healthy ect. But even if you had a solid core of 5-4 good defensive players (which ideally you would but we don't) you need to be able to fill in the other 6-7 players on your defense and make it work. We have failed badly in that capacity not just this year but for four years and counting.

So in some sense I agree with you it's Jerry's fault. But in another sense I don't think it's a problem of drafting. Drafting matters for the 4-5 core guys and we have had some outstanding individual performers. The other 6-7 have been the biggest problem in my opinion.

When you get embarrassed by the 6-6 Bears......................your program needs to be rebooted.............that requires a clean slate of new coaches that are not covered in suck and releasing most of the players on defense.

We've had the same results year after year, but somehow we never change the 'constant'. We keep switching out variables and yet we wonder why things never change. It's funny how a lot of people have success once they leave here.

I love how all these people are getting sucked in, AGAIN, by the prospect of Jerry switching coaches and giving the appearance of change. Unless he brings in a coach of enormous standing and clout who will have final say with personnel and staffing then all we will ever get is more of the same.,,, and that's exactly what I think we'll get.

That's just not true, they were doing allright before Garrett was named coach. Go and check the records. Garrett being named head coach is what wrecked this team.

Yea, I remember Romo winning division titles an even a playoff game before Opie showed up......................now we got arse whoopings unless we are playing the Jags or Texans of the league.

In fairness, Wade was 1-7 when he was fired. They were not doing "alright."

But all Garret has done is gotten them back to being mediocre. I'd almost rather them be horrible though, the draft picks are better and my stress levels would be lower.
