Broaddus thinks our starting RB will be Ingram or draft pick

If the Boys do need a RB to replace Murray, don't think FA is the answer. Go with one at #1 and use him on rotation with what we have on the roster. Williams, Randle and Gordon/Gurley.

It's 5 years, and that's exactly why you draft a RB in the first round... first round talent, for cheap, for 5 years

It's cheaper but it's not free. The first 4 years will run around 8m and the 5th year option will be another 5m(in 4years it might be even higher).

That's 5yrs/13m for a question mark.

For that kind of money you might want to draft a DE or CB instead and wait until the 3rd or 4th to get a RB. Then it would be like Murray or Randle and cost only 3m or so for 4 years.

Sorry, but you are way off for the #27 pick. First 4 years are about $1M per year at that pick. 5th year increases to average of top 3 through 25 of RB salaries, so that goes up to maybe $2-4M.

Deone Buchanon SS #27 last year got 4/7.7m and NO just turned down the 5m option on Ingram who was drafted in the late first.

What about Ryan Mathews from SD who's coming off injury ? Incentive based contract and draft another RB in 2nd or 3rd day. He was pretty good until he got injured.

I get a lot of us want to draft a young guy to run behind this line but I do not want to go into this draft w just randle and Williams as our rb. And we want to have a rookie his first year just throw him into the fire? I'm not a huge fan of Ingram but I'd take him and another rb early over no one before the draft comes.

I don't think any of the FA RBs are a big enough upgrade over RWilliams and Randle to warrant a contract. I might give a Spiller or Harvin a role similar to Sproles in Philly and let Dunbar go. They can also play in the slot or wide out and can return kicks.

I would rather hand the keys to Ryan Williams.

Sometimes I think Broaddus has been sent out by his Valley Ranch overlords to spread disinformation,,, but I will admit that I never really watched Ingram,,,, hasn't the Saints' OL been pretty crappy lately?

Honestly, I just grabbed is 2014 highlight reel to see if I was misremembering anything, so I haven't watched him extensively. He looked pedestrian in his highlight reel, though. That's not usually a great sign.

I believe the Cowboys feel he needs to be in a ZBS system.

I guess. He looks slow to read his holes, and then unremarkable when he makes his moves to me, though. They must like something about him, though. They were reportedly high on him in the draft.

I love murray. I just dont want to pay him 7mil per year. Same with dez. I don't want to pay him 16 mil per year like he wants. Not in a salary cap league. I believe murray can be replaced for cheaper. Murray's blocking is his best assett. His running ability can be easily replaced.

Gurley would be a BEAST behind this line, top 10 talent if not for his injury.

I would have no problem starting a rookie, they translate well on the next level.

Ingram has never lived up to his draft status or heisman hype.... which isn't all his fault. He's played on a pass first offense that employs a RB by committee approach while struggling with nagging injuries (turf toe, ankle issues). Part of a backfield that included Chris Ivory, Darren Sproles, and Pierre Thomas, all solid players. 2014 was his first opportunity to be the lead back and get consistent carries. He did an outstanding job considering the fact he was usually getting hit behind the LOS.

1,800 yds easily replaced. Piece of cake.

1800 yard backs aren't easily replaceable.
