Nix?

I am out. Simplistic offense at UO, lots of screens, RPOs, basic vertical routes. Needs a lot of work on mechanics/footwork. Bad habit of falling back on throws when he feels pressure.
Nix is better in that system than Herbert was and he’s turned out just fine.

You gotta take risks if you want to get better.

If we waste a 1st round pick on a non factor position like center, even if it’s the best center ever, it changes nothing. As long as your center isn’t making constant bad snaps you don’t even notice them.

You gotta go all in at center so you can get value out of you all world guard so that you can get value out of your all world QB. The surrounding cast is supposed to carry the all world stars don't you know.

Imagine using a 1st round pick on a center.

Yup.

Centers really put teams over the hump, huh? Y’all remember Fredrick being a perineal all-pro and winning what? 1 Wild Card game in his career?
Just as long as they don't fix that turnstile in the middle of the defensive line.

Comparing Herbert to Nix. LOL.

And it wasn't the same system. Herbert played under Cristobal. Nix's last two years were under Dan Lanning and a different OC.

Fredrick was a slam dunk incredible 1st round pick. Unfortunate thst he was diagnosed with Guillain-Barre Syndrome.
Sure he was, but he played a non factor position.

There’s never been a team that was a center away from a championship.

There are two, max, potential 1st round centers.

One from Duke and one from Oregon (Jackson Powers-Johnson). Powers-Johnson being the better of the two imo as he won the Remington award. I’m no expert though.

For those wondering, LB is thin for first round talent also, particularly in the middle
Drafting Powers-Johnson would greatly improve our run game. Broadus said something that Barton (Duke) might be some health issues.
