When Brock Purdy does set the QB market, what excuses are the Dak critics going to come up with?
Brock Purdy will not take a senile old man for $60M like someone did.
He will take less so that the team can get better players.
I might also remind you he has accomplished more in his short time than Dak ever will.

Oh sorry, Purdy wasn’t runner up MVP… my bad

Ooooh, Purdy accomplished all of that alllllll by himself!!!!!!!!!!!

Right?????????

:facepalm: :facepalm::facepalm::facepalm:
Problem with your take is Dak had pretty much all that a couple times in his career and guess what... accomplished less than Purdy did with comparable talent around him.

Let's not act like the Cowboys have been completely devoid of anything and everything other than Dak for 8+ years. Because you know that is a lie.

Besides weren't you Dogging Dak and his look not too long ago? I will never understand someone who flips flops at a whim.

At least Purdy has something on his resume. Dak is 2-5 in the playoffs while Purdy has been to 2 straight NFCCG's and started in super bowl 58.
100%

And even if Purdy was "carried" as I'm sure some of the Church of Dak crowd will proclaim, my answer would be "who cares"

I don't want to argue about whether the Niners eventually overpay Purdy or not. It's a distraction from the ironclad reality that the Cowboys made a horrendous and indefensible mistake paying Dak as they did.

Many on here would rather argue for hours about guys like Purdy, than try to defend the Dak deal that they demanded and then celebrated as if they were a sailor in Times square on VJ day.

Don't let them off the hook and don't give them an out. Purdy and his eventual deal are totally irrelevant here. Keep the focus where it belongs. On our team and our mistakes and what can be/needs to be done differently.

Once Dak got injured, it was a blessing to a lot of Daksters, because not only can claim that he is better than the backups, but they can pretend he would've done better and would've put some points up on the eagles. The legend will grow for them during this injury.

Ok. Which one (strong o-line, receiving corp, running game/defense) do we currently have on this year's team?

Name me 1.
He needs them ALL. When he was under $30m CAP, in 2023, he was unable to elevate the team sufficiently to overcome the shaky run defense, what makes you think he'll be able to do it now his CAP hit doubles?
The problem with the run defense, when using it in relation to Dak, is that as the clock ticks down everyone can see the fight go out of Dak's game.... he's no comeback kid.
Don't know whether Purdy can succeed with the elite contract (as we haven't seen it as yet), unfortunately, Dak's vote has been cast and he comes up short.

Unlike Dak, Brock Purdy can be tagged. SF can tag him for $42 million next season. He will sign with the Niners for less than $50 million AAV, four or five years, rather than risk going elsewhere in free agency.
There is that. It was essentially how Dak's second contract was determined. He signed for $42 million per year while it would have cost Dallas $37.7 million to franchise him.

The tag is a negotiating tool until it is no longer on the table. That first year has to be under what the tag would cost or the team has less incentive for a long-term deal. Same if the long-term numbers are higher than a couple of years on the tag.

Purdy is going to shun the brotherhood?? Nah, he will get at least $60M…….deservedly or not. QB contracts are out of control.
Nobody is paying Purdy 60M and the niners are not outbidding themselves.

Purdy is getting the 44M-50M like every other QB.

I think he’s a very good quarterback. I don’t think he’s a great quarterback. Reminds me of Russell Wilson, his career not his style. You have a great team great coaching behind you and you succeeded. My opinion is the best quarterback in the league is up in Buffalo.
Russell Wilson was a great QB at one time. He’s had a better career than Purdy. The QB in Buffalo is having a good year but he’s had his issues with turnovers over his career and he’s lost as many playoff games as our QB. He’s batting 500 in the playoffs.

Yep, just goes to show you how much a team behind you as needed.

You spend too much time worrying about Dak critics and not enough about what’s best for the cowboys.

I believed in Dak for a long time. But I always just wanted what’s best for the cowboys. Not to “own” people who didn’t like Dak.

In regards to Purdy. I think it would be a mistake for the niners to re-sign him to a massive deal. Just like Jerry made a massive mistake in re-signing Dak at the final hour this off season.

That is exactly why he gets accused of being a Dak fan instead of a Cowboys fan. He cares more about Dak than he does for the team

I would be stunned to see SF extend Purdy at the QB1 market rate. I could see them bringing in Rodgers next year before extending Purdy.
