Good. So long, Byron. We'll miss your every-other-year interception. Not to mention how you consistently tackle WRs after 15 yard completions!
3rd round comp pick, yeah I will take that. If they want him that bad to pay him that much for a 3rd.
We have Lewis and Awuzie still, sign Brown to a 2 year deal. Draft a CB.
If you guys are comfortable with Awuzie and Lewis being the #1 and #2 CBs on this team you're bat crazy - we'll get torched
I agree but, the fly in the ointment is that he doesn't travel - he doesn't shadow the other teams #1WR - he only plays one side of the field.Big physical corners who shut down WRs are at a premium.
Maybe it's just me.....but they can have him. Guy as ZERO INTS in the last 40 games....
Lmao dude there will 100% be someone brought in if BJ leaves. Whether via FA or the draft. I’d take aqib talib on a 2 year deal and draft CB’s in the next 2 years. Easy transitionIf you guys are comfortable with Awuzie and Lewis being the #1 and #2 CBs on this team you're bat crazy - we'll get torched
regardless the outcome, losing Byron will hurt the cowboys. by stating their intentions to pursue him vociferously, the broncos are psychologically working on his psyche insofar as Byron taking a cowboy friendly deal by letting him know there are suitors out there who will make him richer. shrewd negotiating ploy by Denver.
When you draft well, these are the types of problems you will eventually have.
You have to decide with of your players you are going to pay and sometimes a few of the other good ones are going to move on for the money.
Now if you get Dak signed (don't start whining about it and turn this into yet another anti dak thread) than maybe you can decide between Amari and Byron on who can stay or who can be have certain tags slapped on them.
But if you don't put a tag on Byron than he will go out as a FA and we will not get any trade picks for him like some seem to suggest.
And if they decide to let him go...with the exception of them bring in a decent player in FA to replace him with (and with the tight purse strings under Stephen Jones, that is unlikely) you will probably wind up taking at least a couple of DBs in the first few rounds of the draft.
I'd like to have him back. Yes, he doesn't generate a ton of turnovers but he's been one of the 10 best CBs over the last two years when looking at completion percentages and passer ratings. I think people seriously underrated/undervalue how important that is because they are so obsessed with him not getting interceptions. That's a pretty silly way to judge a CB (some of the same people said the same thing about Ramsey coming out of college and all he did was become arguably the best CB in football).
But........... if he's going to be a hot commodity and get paid a ton, I think it would be wise to just let him walk.
unless there is significant improvement on our d-line and lb play this year, our d-backs will continue to be the toast of the nfl. seems many are as dismissive of Byron as they were of la'el Collins. losing him will hurt.
