Yeah, can't disagree with you at all. Showers is NOT better than Davis....no way. So you cut him and bring aboard Davis. Then you'll have Dak, AD and Tony for the next 6-8 weeks. When Tony gets healthy, you'll have Tony, Dak and AD. I can more than live with that. The Golden Showers era in Dallas is drawing to an end.

He interests me too, but the Ravens are supposedly all over him already. (he still has ties with the staff from playing there before) He's 30 and makes a lot of money. Doubt we sign him.

So Austin Davis played for Brian Schottenheimer in St.Louis whose offense is also from the Air Coryell family tree. This means Davis would have a working knowledge of the numbering system and the idea behind our offense.

It would make him a good fit if they are looking for someone that is familiar in the system.

I hear ya. He's not someone without talent, if afforded a decent chance to play with quality players around him. I'm reasonably confident that another team would probably pick him up if we were to cut him or if he was relegated to the practice squad.

I agree with this. I have no idea who these people pro Austin Davis have been watching but Davis was cut because he's a bum. He wasn't cut to "help Davis out" or "help the Cowboys out". Davis couldn't beat out McCown or RGIII.......

Blidi Wreh Wilson was cut in Tennessee. He has struggled big time as a corner and they got him some work at safety this summer. He has the size Dallas likes in corners and he played for Brett Maxi with the titans who is a former cowboys assistant. I think was also a teammate of Byron jones for a year.

Not saying we should or will sign him but as a guy with the right size and a former 3rd rounder you never when the light will come on.

Davis would be an ideal backup imo. With our OL and running game, I think he could be fine throwing short and intermediate passes to keep the chains moving. He wouldn't be asked to do too much if he had to play.
