I like those three. I think we could take a chance on an OT if we can't trade out of that pick and those three are gone. There is a decent chance one of those three will be available. My guess would be Iupati then Bryant then Thomas. Finding people who want to trade could be a problem. At least there will be extra time to make a trade.

I agree. If Thomas, Iupati, Wilson and Bryant are gone, there's no doubt the Cowboys have to trade down, possibly pick up a 1st next year, or get another 2nd and 3rd round pick. We could then target guys like Pouncey, Nate Allen, Rodger Saffold, etc.

I think that shows good judgment but just why would YOU be thinking that?
A little bird told me that he fills 2 needs. Age at CB and Returns. Like getting 2 Draft picks in one. If I remember right he ran the fastest 40 for CBs at the Combine. I know it was around 4.35, but I do not remember exactly.

Yes, that makes sense. I think Wilson fills that role as well (as a returner and CB), but I think he'll be gone by 27.

He ran a 4.38, which wasn't the fastest (4 corners raster) but is still damn fast. He probably had the best overall workout of all corners, though, with a 10'06" broad jump and a 6.7 3-cone.

Edit: Scratch that, A.J. Jefferson had the best overall workout.

If we selected Devin McCourty at #27, I wouldn't complain.

I happen to think that if any of the top 3 safeties are there at #27, we'll jump on them and be happy.

I don't see Jerry or Wade being able to pass up on a starting safety for a guy who will be a backup this year at OL or ILB or WR...Dez Bryant will be long gone...don't believe the hype.

Why can't we trade UP?

We can, which is why Dallas is bringing in and/or looking at players that clearly won't be there at #27. Sometimes a team picking ahead of you comes-a-calling looking to trade down and swap picks with you. So Dallas is looking at these guys to be better prepared to make the right decision under that scenario, based on whose there to pick if they trade up, and what they need to give up to go get him.

Why is everyone on the McCourtey bandwagon? I know he's a special teams stud and decent returner, but he put up some fairly pedestrian numbers at Rutgers. Plus he ran a 4.48 at the combine, not a 4.3

Who is on his bandwagon? I saw people say they wouldn't have a problem with it. I didn't see one person doing handsprings or peeing uncontrollably.

One person mentioned it and now everyone seems to be all for him. Either way you know what I meant. Here we go again with the hyperbole bull****. How do you know nobody was peeing or doing handsprings uncontrollably ?

McCourty just matches well with what the Cowboys look for in players. He's like an even more athletic Mike Jenkins.

That equals bandwagon?

Oh never mind. Let it equal a bandwagon.

Woundn't Javier Arenas do the same thing?, and not cost us a First round pick?

Broaddus did a nice job.

Terence Newman is a freak, and he is more than physically ready to fend off any rookie CB in round one for at least the next 3 years, all things being equal.

Don't pick a CB in round 1 unless he's like Mike Jenkins and the best player on the board and you are stuck. I understand that.

That probably will not happen unless people start picking crazy picks like they did when we got Jenkins at 25.

Get me an offensive linemen if you can. Put him in the pipeline if you have to do it. Take the best player, or trade down.

That's kind of how I feel. I think those are the 3 guys Dallas is targeting. I also think as this piece mentioned, we will need a few "wow" picks to make it happen.

Unless a big name we just never expected to be there drops or the draft falls into our laps allowing one of those 3 to fall I believe Jerry will be more then content to listen to offers and try to drop down.

What happens if Dez Bryant falls to 27 does Jerry take him or still try to trade.

Sure but your not getting near the same quality of CB play.
