I would suggest avoiding the open debate type shows where people can have opinions that are in direct conflict with current fan sentiment.
You won't get me to defend Broaddus as a personality but he sort of is the most informed voice in that room. By a lot too.
I agree. I don't care for BB's personality but value his informed opinion...even when I disagree.
If he views himself as the only one on the show with a meaningful opinion--I might not agree with him on that...and sure don't agree he should carry himself in a haughty fashion...but I totally see where he's coming from. Broaddus has not only been an NFL scout but a massively successful one at that.
Maybe I'm old school but I do believe in credentials... The man played football in the SEC. He owns a Super Bowl ring and has quite a tenure for some top NFL teams.
Here is Broaddus background:
-------
As Green Bay's college scouting administrator from 1992-97, Broaddus was part of the 1996 Super Bowl champion Packers. He was the first employee hired by general manager Ron Wolf for the college scouting department. (T-RO comment...that was regarded as best scouting group in the business)
After leaving Green Bay, Broaddus was instrumental in running the 1998 NFL Draft for the Philadelphia Eagles. Four of the team's eight selections that season made the 2005 Pro Bowl. Broaddus also worked with the Jacksonville Jaguars before spending six seasons (1999-2004) as the assistant director of pro personnel with the Dallas Cowboys. Among his myriad of duties, Broaddus did advance scouting, wrote reports for free agency, built boards and notebooks for meetings with owner Jerry Jones and was involved in the Cowboys'War Room on draft day as a source of other team's needs and possible trades.
A 1988 graduate of LSU, Broaddus was a varsity letterman in football for the Tigers. He then continued in the college ranks as a graduate assistant recruiting coordinator at Texas A&M.
Broaddus has also done work for 103.3 ESPN Radio in the Fort Worth-Dallas market, providing analysis of the Cowboys as well as being part of the station's coverage of the NASCAR races at Texas Motor Speedway.
Broaddus and his wife, Cathy, have a son: Bennett.
