I don't see either Browns or the 49ERs. Drafting a QB in the top 5.

No thanks drafting a QB in the first round would be one of the dumbest picks this organization has ever made. Sitting behind Romo for another 4 years.

If not now, when
If you get the chance to draft a guy to be your future starting QB then you do it
It may be that both are gone and in that case there are many ways to go but I think we need a QB now, for the future
If not in the first maybe later but we need a real prospect

That would be my read.

I don't see us getting either guy.

Not unless somehow we jump into the top 3.

Unlikely.

That's where as time drags on I think Dallas will look to sign a QB via a trade as they evaluate the other QBs in the draft and decide they are not Franchise material.

Which then allows them to use the #1 choice on a RB..

Which means they look at trading back a couple of spots to get one and pick up a pick.

This makes more sense and addresses the biggest issues and spreads the risk on the picks.

We'll see.

We are at 4 right now ahead of San Fran. Garrett can change all of that though within the next few hours with just a few well placed claps.

Is Weeden still on his middle finger tour or he is on the bench?

Has Beasley been held accountable at all this season for his repeated disappointing play?

Yes that would be Jerry Jones flawed thinking......but a real football GM wouldn't think that way..RG3 wouldn't be a long term plan, a two year deal and a chance for him to rebuild his stock and would be a major improvement from what's been here for the last two years at backup and a chance for a Goff or Lynch to develop...Romo's day's are numbered, two years at the most, he's a declining player, regardless of the nonsense that comes out of Jerry's mouth..

Its not flawed thinking if you don't like the quarterbacks in this draft. Otherwise, you end up with a Christian Ponder, Jake Locker or Blaine Gabbert. You shouldn't take a quarterback just because you need one. You should take the best player on your board.

Goff is the best polished QB since Luck,,, I don't think that's just taking one to take one

I'm not in that war room with them. I can't see the 49ers passing him up. I'm just saying take the best guy on your board. Don't take the 12th best guy because you need that position. That's where you kill yourself. This team is in no position to draft by need being they need everything. Or can use everything IMO.

Oh ok i looked at overall standings and had san fran in front...i guess it ignored sos and just listed all the teams with the same record in no order.

I think both will be there. Cle will not select QB and we will pick ahead of SF

They are going to do something on the veteran front. If you look at the available free agents, it looks like a bunch of Weedens and Cassels.

If Griffin is available, it is almost a foregone conclusion he gets serious consideration.

Think of the reasons. Jones still marvels at his 4TDs on Thanksgiving. There is the idea of "sticking it" to a division rival, even though it would really be doing them a favor. He is likely to get a strong plug from Briles, who has some ears in in the organization. Hometown boy coming back to Dallas. It would even sell a bunch of jerseys.

Just revolting.

I personally don't get the hate on bringing in a once highly thought of young qb to fight for a backup spot.

Is he because he was once a division rival?

Seriously don't understand some of you posters when it comes to player acquisition.

No "hate". It is just the idea that some of us are not into wasting time.

That was kind of fun back when Al Davis signed Plunkett.

This is a different era and a much different athlete.

Common sense says use the top 5 on a QB if Goff or Lynch are there ... Romo has 2-3 years left (maybe), I'd be very surprised if Romo ever played 16 games again ... so either QB thats drafted would likely get playing time. But thats what common sense says and we all know this organization lacks common sense at times. I say no to RG3 or Manziel.

Pretty optimistic thinking...I think this year is a preview of years to come ... 35-36 year old QB's as starter generally don't do well.
