Nobody is talking because most fans think drafting for need is a good idea....which is exactly what this team does.
Every team drafts for need to some degree. But it is unfair to say the Cowboys are guilty of this as an exclusive strategy. But this year they probably drifted into the need category more than other seasons simply because they failed to address their main need in free agency. The Cowboys cornered themselves and had to find a LG in this draft. The prospect of going into the season having to start Connor McGovern at LG was frightening. In the long run they may have been better off drafting Linderbaum at 24 but that may have forced them to take a OG in the 2nd round. Not necessarily a bad choice but it would have been risky because they needed to get a starting capable player.
